Yeah, they are $16m under the tax line at $146m and will have two draft picks #21 & #22 which will cost them a little over $6m. That leaves them $10m from the tax ($162m) assuming they don't trade those picks. The apron is $170m. They have a trade exception for $18m. Do the math - they are in a bad place. Can't even sign their draft picks, use the full MLE and their trade exception as it puts them over the apron. It probably wouldn't take a terribly large contract to keep them from matching. $15m puts them in the 175% tax bracket with no other moves aside from signing their draft picks. $20m puts them in the 250% bracket as well as above the apron.
We don't differ too often, Day. But, I don't see him ever riding the bench. Scoot's an extremely talented 2 guard with handles playing "out of position" at the moment. Things will come into fockass as the team grows/ makes additions.
The problem with trading KPJ is that you won't get HIS value back in return, he is more than likely here at least 1 more year to get beyond any issues with mental makeup to make you get value for him, at the moment he is a very good NBA guard, but you won't get that back in return. DD
I hope so, that would be great. Don’t like him as our head honcho, but would absolutely love to see a Harden, KPJ, Green guard rotation. Who starts shouldn’t matter. I respect both you and Nook’s comments. On this one, they are pretty different. So if you are right, then the Rockets should keep KPJ, if Nook is right they should trade him as soon as possible before he wrecks his value.
That's why I'd consider throwing a front loaded 4/100 at Cam, he'd come in and immediately be the 2nd best catch and shoot 3 point shooter on the team and improve the defense and I don't think that would be a bad contract towards the end even if he's never anything more than that.
I’m not opposed to any of Cam, Brown, Bridges as our starting SF, but we do also need another really good vet PG/SG and a backup center. If we can do all that with our assets we would be very formidable pretty quickly. Either a guard rotation of Harden, Green, KPJ or some similar configuration along with Cam, Brown, or Bridges would almost assuredly put us in the playoffs.
Like this scenario. It kind of really depends on the draft and whether we go all in on something like Brown or Bridges. We actually have enough space and assets to end up with Harden, Brown or Bridges, and Cam if everything were to fall our way.
yes. We allow him to stay in Australia with his family while paying out the rest of his contract. Stone should be use to this
You came close, but no cigar. https://nbacourtoptix.nba.com/en/metrics/double-teams This is merely a function of KPJ holding the ball so long all the damn time. When you hog the ball for as long as KPJ does, and when you are turnover-prone as KPJ is, of course other teams will eventually try to take the ball out of your hands. Even the opponents get bored with KPJ dribbling the air out of the ball, with nowhere to go.
You're assuming his production actually stays the same or improves next season. I don't think that's a safe assumption at all. He could drop off, get benched (or get benched right from the start), throw soup at somebody, and crater his value. There's a real possibility this past season was the best of his career and his value will never be higher than this offseason, and a strong argument for getting what you can for him now, especially if some GM is especially high on him and wants to gamble.
Well, kiddo, you made an absolute statement, not a relative one. 14.6 is more than 14.4. Try harder next time.
Just for a reminder, this is the original statement LOL, you realize when I say that something happens more frequently I'm talking about a percentage of the time something happens, not the raw number of times a thing happens..... So if something happens a higher percentage of the time....it means it happens more frequently.....which is what I said. Honestly I didn't know I'd encounter people simple enough to where I'd have to spell that out. Just take your L hero, don't attempt to double down and embarrass yourself further. I understand that you thought you were being clever, but someone like you REALLY shouldn't try to be clever. You just aren't cut out for it.
