[National Review] Larry Kudlow Warns DeSantis Is ‘Close to Making a Fool of Himself’ over Disney Feud
...wait... ...Ron DeSantis is only CLOSE to making a fool of himself with this Disney feud? How much closer does he have to get to "foolish" before we can call this thing? ...does he have to actually put on a "Goofy" costume and get his butt kicked in a fistfight on top of Magic Mountain by Mickey, or what?
Here's an actual article, people should read it: https://www.tampabay.com/news/break...ion-florida-supreme-court-tampa-hillsborough/ Jared Smith, the former Hillsborough County judge who was ousted by voters last year after a controversial ruling in an abortion case, is vying to be a justice on the Florida Supreme Court, according to a nominating commission that will review applicants and make recommendations to Gov. Ron DeSantis. The Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission* announced Tuesday that it will interview Smith, now an appellate court judge, and 14 other candidates.... *this is an interesting, longstanding system and I think I might like it https://www.flgov.com/judicial-and-judicial-nominating-commission-information/
This is a point I’ve said repeatedly to Trump supporters. Whatever you care about or believe in Trump doesn’t. He will abandon your issues and you as soon as it’s inconvenient to him. The COVID numbers are one but the biggest is abortion. This is a man who supported Planned Parenthood for years and up until about 13 years ago never seemed to care about the issue. His supporters were praising him as the Pro-life candidate and he talked publicly about nominating judges who would overturn Roe. Now that we seen Republicans losing races and referendums because of abortion he’s blaming the Pro-life movement.
he also recently said abortion should be left to the states and doesn’t support a federal ban…that’s news to the rest of his republican colleagues Trump is also now siding with “woke” Disney because DeSantis is fighting them and getting badly embarrassed
Conservatives have made a mess for themselves. They are "patriots" against opposing Russia They are pro-business but now attack businesses for acting like businesses (Budlight & Disney) They are pro-life but now are worried about being too pro-life. They need to make up their mind where they stand on things. Anti-wokism is taking over their party. But to most of America - Antiwoke is Woke. They are more woke then the woke they attack.
The only thing that is consistent is their hatred of the “Left”. The modern Right is less a principled ideology and more a reactionary movement defined by who they oppose than what they actually stand for.
Yikes. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/...truggles-with-former-hill-colleagues-00093281 The latest in a growing string of anecdotes about DeSantis’ lack of a personal touch during his six years in the House comes via former Rep. David Trott (R-Mich.). He sat next to DeSantis for two years when they both served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The then-Florida lawmaker “never said a single word to me,” Trott said in an email this week to POLITICO Playbook. “I was new to Congress, and he didn’t introduce himself or even say hello.” “I think he’s an *******,” Trott added in a phone interview. “I don’t think he cares about people.” ... Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.), who announced Monday night that he would back Trump for the GOP nomination, said he’s had a tough time connecting with his home-state governor. “There has been multiple opportunities where I’ve talked to him and given him my cellphone number and asked him to reach out to me,” Steube said in a Friday interview on Fox News. “There’s been events in my district where I was told I could not be part of the press conference, told to go stand in the corner and not allowed to participate in that when he was in my district. You can’t win friends and influence people that way, especially in the political realm.” In an interview with Playbook earlier this week, Steube recalled that Trump was the first person to call after the lawmaker suffered significant injuries that landed him in the ICU after in a tree-trimming accident earlier this year. “To this day, I have not heard from Gov. DeSantis,” Steube said. Freshman Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), too, praised Trump’s personal touch in interfacing with the Florida delegation. In an interview with The New York Times, she recalled receiving a personal note from Trump after her father’s death in January, 2022. Another letter came not from Gov. Ron DeSantis, but from his wife, Casey DeSantis. ... But Trott also called the governor “just a very arrogant guy” who is “very focused on Ron DeSantis.” “He wasn’t really liked when he was in Congress. And now it’s coming home to, you know, prove out as some of the Florida delegation endorsed Trump and some of the donors, you know, think he’s kind of awkward in terms of how he interacts with them,” Trott said. “If his pre-presidential campaign was playing out differently, then I’d say, ‘Well, maybe he just didn’t like me.’ But I think there’s something more at work here.”
I'm sure Trump doesn't really care about all that. It's a good state for guys like him, DeSantis, and Matt Gaetz.
there’s something off about this dude you’re not a candidate, but you’re doing a campaign tour across the country and are now in Japan and will soon be in Israel…lol, ok Ronnie, sure
Neither does DeSantis. No one who says "Florida is where woke goes to die" is a serious person with principles and values.
