Twitter has no business model so there may be no replacement to the rescue.

No, those are legacy infrastructures. They have their place, but it's not enough. Something that lives on people's phones and provides multi-directional communication is needed.

Think of Harvey and the inability to geographically target people who must evacuate from floods.

Think of the CA wildfire where some people never received an evacuation notice, or which route to evacuate.

Think of tornado alerts that are too general and not geographically targeted. You would have to turn on the news or watch a weather channel to see where it's heading.

Think of an active shooting where you are as dependent on local individual information as you are on local authority.

Think of the recent harris water boil that didn't get to individuals until hours later, and even then, it was too generalized and confusing.

This isn't hard to understand. He's not actively destroying his user base by being an ******* to Facebook users, even when they write negative things about him. Stay away from strawman.

When we've had the last couple of Central Texas massive freezes, twitter was the go-to source for road situations, power outages, finding emergency supplies, and things of that nature.

The great part about being Elon is that you can effortlessly switch between malice and incompetence - much like Trump - but your die-hards will accept either and call it brilliant @tinman @Space Ghost

I don't know when people are going to realize that our heroes and overlords, from Musk, Zuckerberg on to Larry Summers and Jamie Dimon on to Mitt Romney and Trump and DeSantis are all just a bunch of super lucky doofuses.

Keep telling yourself that. It's a good coping mechanism.

When one fails at life, they compensate by attributing the successes of others as either luck or systematic injustices.

Anyone with half a brain could admit the elon purchase of twitter has been a utter failure. What have you genuinely been right about? You were wrong about elon, wrong about Pelosi attacker, wrong about Trump, etc.

It's funny how right wingers lift each after continously being wrong time after time. It's a circle jerk between folks who have been predicted everything wrong.

What would you consider a moderate success? Maintaining status quo, which includes the company losing tens of millions a month?
If 'utter failure' includes break even for Twitter, what would a complete collapse of Twitter be called?
Why did Meta copy verification if it was a dumb idea?

As I said in the past, there is much to be critical about, but you put absolutely no effort in your thoughts. You simply regurgitate whatever flashes across the MSM headlines.

Break even????? Twitter is breaking even??? What?!?!? I don't watch main stream media. Try harder

Utter failure is when you hype up a new feature and NOBODY signs up for it but mocks you for rolling it out.

It appears that Musk is granting blue check marks to Twitter users who have over 1 million followers. This is a complete departure from his initial decision to remove the blue check mark as a way to eliminate elitism and "treat everyone equally".

If Musk is using the blue check mark to promote the brand without the consent of the users, it would be considered false advertising.
