Certainly not a good start from Brown, but impressive in its own way for a young pitcher.

Already gave up 4 runs in the first but he fought and got 12 more key outs so we could get the ball to the good part of the pen. Gave the offense a chance to comeback.

Move him to the 2 hole, pretty simple fix.

I think he's referring to the fact that he kept it together after getting pummeled in the first inning. Is it a good start on the surface? No. But it's a character building effort and we gotta love that aspect of it. The young man is starting to show he's got that IT factor.

Most pitchers on any given night are going to throw some hittable pitches. Rarely can you look at a pitch chart and not find any hittable pitches. Sometimes they get stung and sometimes they end up being cans of corn. Tonight all his mistakes got stung but he fought through it.

That is a relentless lineups. One of the tops in the league. It's like facing the 2019 Astros, then you factor that Brother Brown is a rook. Jeremy makes a play it ends at 3 runs but that's baseball. It's a good start.

This is such a simplistic, keyboard-warrior take. If you don’t see the value in coming back from a bad first inning with multiple scoreless against one of the top lineups in the league - both for this game and his mental makeup - you really need to find a different sport.

    “coddling”. smh

Crazy that Dubon leads the team in WAR, hits, and batting average. Making a bid for the all star team

So if he keeps this up what do you do with him when Altuve gets back? CF?

They always have. It is a characteristic of their team and their Manager. Please do not confuse this with criticism, it is natural to put lesser players who need PAs in against lesser opposition and rest regulars. Our other regulars just get lulled to sleep.

I must say I have been pleasantly surprised with many players who have played better than expected.

After the first 20 games we are at 10-10 after losing JV to FA and McCullers, Altuve and Brantley to IR. The sky is NOT FALLING! We have a lot of people who still want to see the worst in any situation and rehash financial responsibility as the problem.

Also, there are reasons for leaving which are not a matter of dollars and cents; however, there are also reasons for STAYING which are not a matter of dollars and cents. The idea that all we need to do is match the contracts of a player who leaves or a FA who chooses to play elsewhere is a fallacy.

It's an option as is platooning Altuve and Dubon at DH until Brantley returns. I admit finding a way to keep Dubon IN the line-up seems unnatural at this moment no matter how logical it is. But I sincerely hope he has become a better player. I am rooting FOR him.

While it goes against normal, swinging Alvarez, Dubon, McCormick, Meyers, Brantley and Julks between CF, LF, 2B and DH leaves us with a helluva bench.

Stable Starting Positions (ie - when they play a position, this is where they play)
    2 Maldonado
    3 J Abreu
    5 Bregman
    6 Pena
    9 Tucker

    Flexible Staring Positions
    Alvarez LF or DH
    Brantley LF or DH
    Dubon IF and OF
    McCormick LF or CF
    Meyers LF or CF
    Julks OF or DH
