Keep an eye out for online sales, there's no way I'd ever pay full price for hats and shirts and such.
Maldi has been absolute shite behind the plate this year. It is time to make him a bench coach 3rd catcher. Diaz will be dynamite with the bat and we will be nine deep when we have all our guys back.
Very good series 2-1 vs a healthy team that should be an AL contender with Altuve, Brantley, Chas, and Lance hurt. Outscored them 19-7. 5 of 8 position starters had hits in all 3 games. Every player who started at least 2 of the games, except Maldy, got at least 2 runs and/or RBI. Garcia and Pressly pitched very well after starting the season less than good. Jose Abreu: 5 for 12 w/ 2 runs and 4 rbi. Bryan Abreu: 2 2/3 IP 1 hit 0 bb 3 Ks no runs
He hasn't been up to Maldy standards at all but I wouldn't go that far. His horrible (3 WP) game was that sh!tshow in Minny when nobody could see well, his game before that in Detroit, Framber was being Framber with the Framber curve (not the easiest guy to catch) but there's still no excuse for that. 4/8 on SB attempts is not insignificant these days, especially the only 8 attempts part.
for anyone wanting to watch tomorrow's game and not pay for Apple TV, here's the link for a freebie 2 month trial. should give you a baseball fix for a while for any Apple TV games. since there's not a thread yet for the series, will post in here and then there too. https://redeem.apple.com/mlbfnb2motvus?origin&itscg=80218&itsct=s_mlb_partner_2023_offer
I've never been a Dubon Enjoyer, but this year he's got the most entertaining Savant page I've ever seen. My instincts tell me that a 1st percentile chase rate and being the hardest to strikeout batter in baseball won't hold, but maybe our boy just broke baseball idk.
The org was never going to pay him what he could get on the market but you do know the other reason he wanted out right? It wasn’t the scandal. I don’t blame him at bit.
Players spend YEARS. Sometimes a decade or more just to get to the point where they are able to play where they want or have a say in how much they make. They make significantly less than players of equivalent production but more experience for all those years. I can't fault a player for wanting to move on - regardless of their reason. They have earned it. That said, disrespecting the team on the way out is classless. Therefore I can not abide Cole. Everyone else, I wish the best except against the Astros.
Interesting data. I take from this that opposing pitchers want to pitch to him and are giving him pitches to hit. Kind of like when the #9 batter is up in Little League -- the strategy is just to groove fastballs down the middle and avoid a walk.
