Right on cue folks! major with the Astros or Dusty did it so it can’t possibly be wrong or a bad process. fantastic folks. Now, tell me how it was a great idea for them to call up the IF Scrubby McScrubenstein from AAA with the 599 ops that’s 26 years old and in no way, shape or form a prospect. I’m on pins and needles for that one.

My brothers and sisters, let us put our differences aside today and go with the Lord for a Astros DUB tonight. Garcia going to pitch 6 innings, 2 ER, Astros win 6-3.
Major didn't say it was the right decision because Dusty and the Astros made it...he provided context for why it's a reasonable and good decision at the time it was made.
Well...since you asked He was the only middle IF (and there are no OF) already on the 40 (which is full, iirc) and it's just a short-term deal that allows Dubon to play CF when needed and Hensley to play 2B with him as the bench IF. eta: they could have moved Altuve or maybe Brantley to the 60-day and added someone else, but I can understand waiting on that since this is *hopefully* just a 10-day IL stint for Chas (they may need that flexibility later)
The outrage over the 38th/39th/40th man on the 40-man roster getting called up is... a mix of amusing and confusing. Bannon's probably losing his spot when the Astros decide Dirden/León/whoever is ready, so whatever.
When Baker believes that Diaz works as hard in practice and film study as he does on the field, he will get more starts. Perhaps he starts tonight. Messages are being sent though.
LOL Yeah Ill keep that in mind. I would actually probably enjoy BBQ with Dusty if I ever had the opportunity. Not so sure I would enjoy a dinner with Crane.
I’ll answer this one Brown knows Dusty ain’t using who he calls up anyway so he don’t want to put another legit prospect on the bench to sit next to Diaz Next question
I saw Whitley got knocked around last night. I have tempered expectations for him, but I hope he can at least be a bullpen option for us at some point this season.
He was actually much better than the numbers showed. Really only had 8 balls hit hard off of him. Was unlucky more than anything last night I’m not saying I think this guy has figured it out, but last night numbers worse than performance
I did see somewhere that Dana thought about Dirden but wanted him to stay in AAA "getting regular ABs" for the time being.
This seems like the not so subtle message. "Do things the way we want you to and you'll play" Seems like they've intentionally narrowed his pathway to playing time to just catcher. Which means he needs to suck it up and do the catcher prep-work. On top of listening to them on the hitting side.
I can't speak to his practice habits, or game prep, or relationship with the pitchers, or anything like that, but from what I've seen from him behind the plate he's way better than I expected. Solidly solid.
