Oh well. The goal is to start winning series, if we win tomorrow tonight is forgiven. I'm going to need Luis Garcia to wake up and have a quality start tomorrow. And I'm going to need our offense to punish Berrios.
Maybe we can finally get Maldy out of the damn lineup if this starts getting traction with the “the Astros are 63-7 with Peña hitting second” crowd:
I'm not sure what the point is of having Diaz on the team if you are just going to give crucial pinch hit opportunities to a completely trash 3rd string catcher that has no business being on the roster anyway. I have my complaints with Dusty but generally I think most of the fan complaints are overblown. Dusty (or whoever) has been nails in the playoffs so it's a wash, but the way he is managing this current team this season I just can't disregard the stupidity. Pinch hitting Salazar was up there with La Russa calling for an intentional walk on a 2 strike count. I just can't defend this moronic nonsense anymore.
I just keep going through that stupid AB in my head and the only thing I can think is that he liked the lefty matchup better against the slider...? Which is also moronic bc Romano has been way tougher on lefties throughout his career, something that Kalas immediately alluded to... And it's not like your pinch hitting for a lefty and that lefty is Kyle Tucker. It's Cesar ****ing Salazar. Seriously, I think Dusty thought, well L on R and hey we need to get this kid some ABs! That's the logic. It makes my ****ing head explode. I realize in the grand scheme of things it's a blip on the radar, but at least try and make the process make sense. I'm not asking for the results to be perfect, just ****ing make it make some ****ing sense for ****ing once. Geez.
As usual, loving these random 5 year olds on here with less than 300 posts who have been around for exactly 4 months. GTF outta my feed.
I know. Tonight just really ****ing pissed me off. I would have been just normal annoyed but then Dusty decided to pinch hit my 5 year old.
I hear ya bro. I'm frustrated as hell too. I just keep telling myself that at some point we will become the Astros again and take off.
I think we will if we ever give any of the actual young talent a chance to play and compete. Instead of you know just assigning roles and making dinosaur decisions. Whatever, going to bed. Shake it off and win tomorrow.
This is a pattern now. Maldy calls the worst pitches and the staff is getting shelled with him behind the mound. He kept calling for out of the zone fastballs that were leading to opposite field hits for the Jays.
