Lonzo Ball would be a perfect fit next to Green.

I think you roll the dice on his health. He's still relatively young to do some serious rehab and strengthing work. Anectodally, I was always injured in my early 20s but fixed my training regime and have been much more resillient early 30s. Can't imagine if I actually had NBA caliber training and diet.

But, DD indicated that KPJ is more valuable than Scoot Henderson and wouldn’t trade for him straight up? I’m confused o_O

He's a guy I've thought about too. It worries me that it's a knee thing though. That can be a career-ruiner. On the other hand, somehow CP3 has managed to play 18 years and running after a similar early-career issue, so clearly it can be done.

Agree on KPJ not being worth as much in those trades. I do not want FVV, because he is not worth a max or near max contract. He is a chucker. I’d rather expend a couple of our future draft picks than expend our cap space on non-worthy max players. Look at this comparison and explain why FVV is worth the max compared to the PG we are trying to replace.

I like Conley as well. He might be gettable via trade.

Not realistic. OKC is not giving him up.

Ball could be a hall of famer if he could stay healthy. It is a very real gamble, so you have to weigh the risk and reward. All indications are that Charlotte is asking for the moon and stars for him. If that is the case, its a pass for me.

I think a guy like Conley, Lowry, or CP3 (I doubt the latter wants to come back after the way we did him) would be a nice fit if Harden doesn't return and we draft Amen Thompson or one of the other point guard prospects who isn't named Scoot to be our point guard of the future. Somebody to mentor that guy up and give the rest of the youngsters a strong floor general in the meantime while they develop.

I doubt the Rockets are in the position of choosing stars.....but I think Arsenal is getting there.;)

I always thought Lowry was a good fit along with maybe one other vet wing/big. That way if KPJ really takes off next year it's not like you've given up the farm or spent Fred Van Fleet type of money to commit that starting spot long term.

I've been accuse of being a KPJ hater in the past but let's be honest guys... if he was on the Lakers they'd be acting like he's potentially a "big 3" core piece (and then he'd be rumored in every fake trade for a real star...). The guy is a bit immature, and doesn't know how to really be a true PG, but that doesn't mean he's that bad of a player.

Of course if FVF or Harden want to come here then you just brush KPJ to the side, and then he's gotta earn whatever he can get or get waved. But if you can't get one of the max contract guys this Summer I think Lowry is sort of the prime example of what we should be looking to trade for.

Really good take, but I’d rather have Conley or Caruso instead of Lowry. I don’t think Lowry will be able to make it through a full season every again. I’d love to give KPJ another chance off the bench to see if he can improve his play and professionalism, unless he is needed in a trade for a clear upgrade.

I think with any of these guys >35 years old you have to assume they can't play heavy minutes anymore and will probably miss a decent chunk of the season. That's why I'm only a fan of picking them up if it's in a mentor role for an Amen Thompson, Anthony Black, etc. Kind of makes sense that during some of the season your young prospect would get a chance to show his stuff, and would generally play heavier minutes than a typical backup PG.

Who would give up that level of talent.

I was just describing "ideal point-guard".

    At #2 for sure.

I'm starting to believe in Amen Thompson though. I don't care that he plays in a junior league. That kid has athleticism that can only be given.
