Some draft projections within the past week Hendon Hooker will assuredly be a draft favorite heading into the night, as many fans will be rightfully rooting for him moving forward. His production at Tennessee brings with it a lot of good tape to point to and his progression as a player certainly paints him well to front offices. His age, injury, lack of elite tools, and the gimmicky offense he played in will ultimately likely prevent him from being a first round pick, but there will be teams that love his intangibles and tape enough to make a move to try and develop him as a potential starter or high end backup. Projection: Third Round Current Draft Projection for Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker On my board, Hooker grades out as an early Day 3 prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft, although positional value could draw him into Day 2 range. He has both talent and production on his side, but conceptual and operational questions — among them, his age, health, precision, and processing ability — should keep him out of Round 1. The earliest I have seen him go in mock drafts is CBS who has him at 19 to Tampa Bay.
Anthony Richardson is a pocket presence away from being the next "Superman" of the NFL. He's done everything in this draft process. He even aced that Season 2 of C test. Dont be surprised when he's being considered #1 right before the draft.
Every QB to put on a uniform gets a boost from the QB is EVERYTHING group that would love this Angels Strategy with a 51 player roster (that counts toward the cap). ~Of course one player deserved 25% of the total team budget.~
Moving back to 5 (Seattle) or 6 (Philadelphia) will still leave a top 6 choice for us for the price of a few spots and possibly significant extra draft pick value.
I’m good if we come out of the 1st with one of Young, Anderson, Bijan or Stroud. I have these guys as tier 1 players that can dramatically change the trajectory of this franchise. Nothing is guaranteed but the potential is there IMO. The extra capital would be nice but we need to start adding players like this. Going through the past couple drafts, I’m not sure we’ve added all that many players with this potential in a while.
That's what I'm digging into. What makes CJ Stroud just "any QB?" Would he just be "any QB" if we are seeing him twice a year in a Colts jersey? Every QB has weaknesses so what makes some so sure to pass up on any of the top two in this draft?
Some mock drafts I have seen have him going as early as late first round with many thinking he is more than likely a 2nd rounder with some saying the 3rd.
The Texans are taking a QB. So what, you don't get the QB wanted. Sometimes you get the QB you NEED. No way the Texans wait on a QB for 2024. Demeco expects to win games. After seeing what the Panthers gave up, No way he gives away draft capital next year and beyond for a QB.
That’s another thing I think some of these “wait til next year” guys are overlooking just like I overlook a QBs size… if the panthers just gave up 3 firsts and Dj Moore for a qb in this “weaker class” what makes anyone think we will be able to move up next year for “3 QBs better than anyone in this class” next year? It’s going to be a madhouse of tanking and trade ups and it will put us in a much bigger hole hoping for one of the top guys next year. that being said, I don’t agree with there being top guyS next year. I think it’s Caleb Williams and then whoever settles for after that. Which will be us because we will need a qb and not have the top pick.
No scout is going to agree with that last part. Maye might end up going 1st, there are two generational talents in next years draft with two to three more with extreme upside.
Trouble is, those who hold the top two picks may simply refuse to trade their golden ticket away. You can't force them if they want their guy too.
Very real chance. I still don’t think we’re going to be great this year and I have complete trust in Demeco
