You sure do get triggered thinking about what type of genitlia a minor wants.... I'll copy and paste my response to @DonnyMost since you also can't follow along a conversation......
LOL..... Now I'm a lab monkey with no clinical experience...... Because I saw right through your articles and premise. I can only assume because you are an idiot, you have to create this strawman where I don't believe elective surgeries/therapies/treatments have risks. The risks of transitioning the gender of an adolescent is something that any reputable doctor would discuss with both the patient and their parents/guardians. Why would I want the government interjecting into this type of medical decision or flat out outlawing it?
Based on what? Did you conveniently forgot to post the medical articles to back up the bolded? Whoops..... Alcohol related diseases aren't minor....
you don't agree with articles citing the risks above from the AHA and systematic reviews? why are you lying dude? You didn't see jack, you can't appraise stuff and sit in cubicle with zero clinical knowledge. Its showing glaringly, even those without it even think you're a moron for your silly birth control analogy. I'm quite literally telling you these are what go into the discussion that physicians have. Everything you are presented with you discount as some conspiracy, that is the sign of a cultist or crazy conspiracy theorist. This discussion is fruitless. The people that write those articles and also just happen to be the chairs at the accademic centers that put forth the guideline don't give a **** about what you and your feelings think about this Talking about this stuff requires experience and a lot of school for a reason. I'm dumber for having engaged with you, on ignore you go
Just so everyone knows, the AHA, aka american heart association is one of the gold standards of published research (as is their journal called circulation). Think of akin to New England / Nature. Guy that can't discern the difference between "Birth control and hormone replacement*** therapy" but works the front desk at pharma thinks they're full of it. Good laugh man. We need people to make fun of on here, you can be that guy
LOL.... so cowardly and moronic... can't even mention me by name. Considering how well you've misinterpreted my position.... one shouldn't expect greater than a middle school level conversation.
Because it is happening in private setting among providers and their patients/patients' parents or guardians...... Any individual who is truly interested and takes step to just talk to a medical provider would learn about this. Coincidentally, this issue magically exploded after Trump lost the election. I guess we need to come up with a Public Service Announcement so we can further fight and claw over dumb **** that can be avoided if folks minded their business.
I don't agree with how you are trying to use them to justify you position. The articles themselves are sound. Why are you lying dude? Anyone can post some medical articles and feign knowledge about them. I can only assume since you are a moron, your only defense left is to misrepresent my position. Remind me of your clinical background? What makes you the expert, besides the ability to search and post medical articles to a forum? Because you are using those articles as a means to prevent adolescences from transitioning with the approval of their parents or guardians by a reputable medical provider. It's a very big decision for a family to make and I am not dismissing the risks. Just saying it's none of your business..... Because you can't handle it, so go run and hide.
I might draw the line at people who are so upset at seeing characters in fiction that aren't straight would dedicate their whole online persona and countless hours, days, months in years, in trying to belittle companies that have decided they can make money by being inclusive.
In a review of 27 studies involving almost 8,000 teens and adults who had transgender surgeries, mostly in Europe, the U.S and Canada, 1% on average expressed regret. For some, regret was temporary, but a small number went on to have detransitioning or reversal surgeries, the 2021 review said. https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/how-c... review of 27,surgeries, the 2021 review said.
You lost me when you compared birth control pills to children taking puberty blockers. Also, the poster you went at is a medical doctor. Last - so it had nothing to do with anything I said - what I figured.
From the article you posted: “The few studies that exist have too many limitations or weaknesses to draw any firm conclusions.” - Dr. Michael Irwig, director of transgender medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston Again - the point is the same, we don’t know on a lot of issues concerning the transgender community because the numbers and studies are not good enough yet. We may find out in 10 years that 99.9% of those that transition are happy long term - or we may find out that isn’t the case. Anyone claiming on either side they definitively know is misinformed or lying. The amount of misinformation and lying on this issue by both sides is really disappointing.
We protect minors all the time and set limitations on what a minor can or cannot do with or without parental consent. The government even sets limitations on what doctor’s can and cannot do and what procedures even adults can consent to. All of this is in its infancy, and the long term consequences to puberty blockers is not known and often are severely down played. We also don’t know what the long term satisfaction is on transition surgery at this point. Once someone is 18, they can take hormones and pursue sexual reassignment surgery and appreciate the risks. There are serious ethical questions at risk.
I know because you are ignorant on the long term effects of taking birth control.... and my point went completely over your head. That is embarrassing for them. That "doctor" blamed hormones when news about a trans shooter came out. You didn't say anything.... you just stumbled trying to speak for someone.
You have a pretty warped take on just about all of this. I don't necessarily disagree with you too much on this topic, but jeeebus, you're a bit nutty.
Now we are moving the goals posts from we need to "publicly talk about the consequences" to this. Of course we protect minors, any elective medical or surgical treatment should be taken very seriously. They can. I've expressed what I think the current limitations should be. Based on what? Why do you keep suggesting this? Teens aren't jumping in line to go through these type of electric procedures. And when it does happen, why would assume the risks are being severely down played by their medical provider? I disagree, I've expressed what I think the age limitations should be. I think this is a very serious decision between a family and their medical provider and they should weigh the risks. I feel the same way about abortion as well. These are very serious decisions and it doesn't help to have the government or some outside party trying to dictate an outcome.
Your point didn’t go over my head - you don’t have one. I am very familiar with the effects of birth control pills - I have sued manufacturers before.
You're right and studies are starting to come out now. I'm sorry this one didn't give you the results you wanted to hear, but time will tell.
