He has a usage rate of 31% and for two seasons straight. Yes his defense catapulted him to be a better player now but Green just reaching competent defender would be enough with his offensive trajectory

If you get Brown, i think Green becomes redundant. Kpj pretty much can score.

Green Eason 2 first would get it done i suppose. Still hard to trade Green he is explosive scorer, but lacks the intangibles that Brown brings to the table, including lock down defense.

 

I feel like in any scenario he'd be more of a SF, because I think in most instances you'd be keeping one of KPJ or Green.

The defensive woes of guys like Harden or KPJ and ESPECIALLY Jalen Green can't be overlooked, but with Brown and Smith on the court you'd have 2 competent defensive players to help stop the bleeding a bit.

 

Depends on what you can sell Boston on. If I'm them, I definitely want KPJ and Sengun....the two best players on the Rockets, but if we can sell them on flash and hype, maybe we can keep one of our best 2 guys and sub Green instead.

If Simmons is right then based on the narrative that Harden works out with Green and admires his weak off the ball/horrible defense(your thoughts), and Brown wants to link up with Harden then that would make Green the odd man in

And if Celtics fans were to use your evaluation for Green then they would immediately hang up the phone or tell you they want the best player on a twenty win team as a staring point if they are going to trade their two way all star, not for some chucker who sucks at defense

So you can't put Green(ie. Brewer) in any of your trade proposals because he sucks, you are stuck with Green, so root for him, flaws n all

That is exactly what you would be dealing, the flash/hype of the two so called best players on twenty win team for a sure fire NBA caliber all star and all NBA player

You can try and sell whatever, but the buyer has to want to make that purchase and most definitely would not want the worst defender in the NBA and Corey Brewer-esque, no matter the hype/flash

None of us know exactly what the asking price would be, but I think we should be optimistic at this point in the year because there's no harm in it.

His shooting is actually worse than last season. 2p%, 3p%, eFG%, and TS% are all down. How is it absurd?

The only improvement was getting to the line more. But even that could not boost his efficiency. He scored 4.8 points more by shooting 3.7 more attempts.

Yes, from eye test, he seems to have better understanding of the game. But his shooting is as shaky as his rookie year, if not worse.

of our era before the draft.

Said Green would get to about 185 pounds in year 2

Problem is nobody challenged MJ until Kobe
in size and athleticism, so MJ was head and shoulders above his peers.

Jalen Green has Morant, Ant-Man and others extremely fit and athletic and shooting 3's from grade school.

Jalen will be nose above water among his peers.

Had him at 25 points per game this past season but it looked like he hit a rookie wall again after 30 games.
That goes with driving in the paint vs NBA defenses and being 182 pounds.

Teams game plan vs #1 Green first....then KPj next. Just my opinion. Both KPj and Green are amazing try to drive vs a packed paint with little to no 3-pt shooters providing air cover.
