You mean signing a bill that 75% of voters don't want is a bad idea?? Shocking news. DeSantis got popular cuz he was the freedom fighter. No Vax no mandates etc. Then he goes full facist and takes away people's rights and blocks all abortions. How effin stupid do you have to be. ZERO political instinct.
You confuse laughter with anger. When you read my posts imagine me laughing on the floor literally versus whatever state of anger you think I'm in. I genuinely get pleasure from laughing at conspiracy filled folks and right wingers. It's an outlet for laughing and stress relief.
DeSantis platform is anti-abortion, anti-woke, anti-business, anti-education, and anti-gay/trans…that’s the best the Republicans have got after Trump
I do have children, probably more than 90% of this forum, lol. Not everyone has been infected yet, but everyone will likely eventually be infected. This is all the more reason to be vaccinated. The risk of heart problems (and many other health issues) after being infected with COVID without vaccination is much greater than the risk of heart problems after being infected with COVID with vaccination.
Half my family are doctors. And even my cousin who is married to a cardiac surgeon who is also a die hard Trumpster (oh they go to Trump rallies) - even they get their children vaccinated because they want to protect their kids from long term damage. But they are still against vaccine mandates and think people don't need them. That kids should be allowed to go to school without being vaccinated because the risk is small and there aren't many long-term studies. But they vaccinate their own kids. And when I asked them why they vaccinate their own kids - their answer is simple - they don't want to take any risk at all when it comes to their children and that's their choice as parents. I think it's much more revealing.
But most kids got Covid even before they would have been able to consider vaccination. Show me studies which say that the risk/reward ratio is positive for children to get vaccinated AFTER already having had Covid. Thanks.
I'm not aware of any studies on the risk/reward of vaccinating children who have had COVID, but I don't think it's necessary. There are studies that show infection-acquired immunity is as good or even better than vaccination-acquired immunity, but with some caveats. Not everyone develops infection-acquired immunity, especially if the infection was very mild. If you are immunocompromised, you probably need boosters more often. Regarding the point that most kids got COVID before they were able to get vaccinated, that's not true. Vaccination was available to young children before Omicron was first detected in South Africa. It was available to older children even earlier.
By NOW, most children have had Covid. As you correctly say, infection-acquired immunity is as good or even better than vaccination-acquired immunity. So, again, why should children who already had Covid get vaccinated?
I wasn't arguing that they should be vaccinated after infection, but rather before infection. Florida wasn't making this point either. Instead, they recommended against vaccinating children based on their claim (which we knew was false from the beginning, but now we have evidence that it was manipulated to support their claim) that vaccination was more harmful than infection, regardless of whether they had been infected before. To answer your question about vaccination after infection, it may still be worthwhile for some people, such as those who are immunocompromised or those who had a very mild case of COVID-19.
