Definitely eating out less, particularly during lunch. I will say lunch time is still pretty packed at all the fast casual spots near the office.

The cost of everything is out of control. Eating out, groceries. Getting F'ed both ways. I stopped eating out for lunch. I try to only go out to dinner once a weekend. Crawfish season is killing my bank account.

I was coming in to this thread to just say that I paid under $3 for a dozen eggs today, so everyone can celebrate, but then you reminded me I haven't had crawfish this year. I need to change that. I'm fully expecting 3-5 lbs of crawfish, where the majority of it ends up being waste, costing me $1000 with the potatoes and sausage being extra. Can't wait.

If money were no issue at all, I would eat out every single night.

Unfortunately, that's not the case and we have already blown through our eating out budget this month and we're not even to the 15th yet. Time to scrounge around for some gift cards....

I go to the grocery store like..."man...I'm buying me some of those pasture-raised only organic eggs". I get there and the price be looking at me like "$10.99 b!tch!". I had to say "f8k u, leggo eggo" and take a hard pass. That's almost a buck an egg! Maybe next time! Need to work up more will power! I will have to see some benefit over regular eggs. Yeggy eggy!

You can find some good deals, check out local spots facebook pages for which days they have their specials. I've been able to find 5lbs for $30 with free corn and potato, butter and seasoning extra and another spot with $3.99 on Mondays, everything extra.

UberEats, DoorDash, etc. have always been a rip-off. Don't do it!

Where the heck do you shop that eggs are $10.99? Even the cage-free, free range, no hormone, antibiotic free, organic, red-white-and-blue eggs from tap dancing chickens are around $4 or less at places like HEB. I did see some "heirloom" ones there for like $7+, though. I'm still buying the ordinary eggs from chickens hopped up on drugs, still in chains, whipped to death, fresh off rowing the boat in Ben Hur. Under $3!

I've never used those meal delivery apps.

    1. It makes the meal way more expensive.
    2. The quality after the food has been siting in take out containers for an extended period is generally a considerable downgrade compared to fresh at the table or going to pick it up yourself.

    More expensive for less quality!

If you love eating out as much as I do, and you miss eating your favorite dishes, try looking up copycat recipes on YouTube.

    This!

America's Test Kitchen/Cook's Illustrated is a proper source, as is the NYT food section, and if you like Mexican, Rick Bayless has about 264 recipes on his website.

Another site I like for reading/getting ideas is Kitchn.
