Healthy enough to lead the league in assists, shoot good percentages while playing with the best player in the league, a budding star in Maxey and good role players. There should be zero excuses but you already know there will be plenty.
I haven't watched any games, but on the BS pod Simmons said that Harden hasn't looked good since he missed some time a few weeks ago. He may have some sort of lingering injury.
Except for that first half-season in BK before he got injured against the Bucks, I agree. He's still a decent player, but definitely declined from his time in Houston.
He's still smart enough and a good enough passer to make it work. But he just can't take over games anymore. There is just no explosiveness to his game anymore. Can't get by anyone.
My persnal favorites are: 1) League has a narrative against Harden 2) Magnets are altering shots 3) NBA doesn't want dark skinned players to succeed 4) Refs are unfair Some of the BS that idiots here spew to defend Lil Baby's man.
Some of y'all don't seem to get how much luck and overall team quality are involved in winning a championship. Even the GOATs failed a lot more than they succeeded, even when they had essentially the same supporting cast from one season to the next. It's a team sport, and a sport where one bad bounce sometimes makes the difference between winning a title and failing to do so. It would be possible to be one of the best players of all time and do everything you should do and still not win a single championship, IMO, because one guy can't do it all or control fate and fortune. That's not likely, but it could happen. In any case, sure... Harden is not a top 10 or probably top 20 player of all time. And that's okay. He's still one of the best guards of his generation.
He looks amazing. We think he looks "bad" because we were blessed with some of the most dominant offensive seasons since Jordan. He's not that guy anymore ... but he is still a 20/10 max player.

Since the Covid season and the honey bun show with Lil Baby his head did not totally spin around bball. This turning on and off mode is not going to work forever esp. when he gets injured like that.
