Disgusting. We will become as dangerous as Central America one day. Are Americans going to be fleeing to Canada to get away from all the violence one day? We have American teenagers and kids gunning down kids. We have children being slaughtered in schools. We have dumbass parents leaving guns lying around for their kids to get hold of. We have psycho politicians taking Christmas pictures with their kids holding assault weapons.

I encourage all of the Americans who are afraid of gun violence to flee to Canada.

Add to that 44% of unsecured gun. Kid probably has hearing loss.

Yes, it seems you are very scared. When are you leaving? What part of Canada looks appealing to you? Toronto? Vancouver?

I'm a very serious person. I think people who are so afraid of guns that they want to take away people's rights to assuage their fears would be much better off living in one of the many countries that have laws more in line with their comfort level with guns. Why would that not be the case. They would get exactly what they are asking for. It doesn't have to be Canada. Japan, Mexico, Australia, the UK, France, Germany, etc. all have the gun control people are begging for. You don't need to fight an impossible battle here to overturn the 2nd Amendment, there are dozens of places that have already done what you want. Those of us who understand that the United States is quite safe, and that these are rare tragedies, not daily threats, don't need to head for greener pastures.

Also, apparently you didn't pick up on it, but flee to Canada was the terminology used by deb4rockets.

I think that statement is more referencing the privilege you have to be mobile and move willy nilly.

No one is trying to take guns away completely. It’s obvious to most people in this country that more regulation is needed. Even the governor of Tennessee said he would ask the legislature for some new basic common sense gun control laws.

You aren't seroius about the gun problems that are uniquely our problems. Your preference is guns over kids. You are part of the sick American gun culture.

I would say there are prominent Democrats who discuss gun bans so openly.

Probably one issue I'm not really on a particular "side". Mainly because I think many establishment democrats want simple solutions to complex problems that they just want to wrap in a box and sell to college educated suburbia. College educated suburbia thinks we can solve systemic police brutality through one hour PowerPoint presentations and they think they can solve gin violence by banning a subset of weapons that a miniscule part of our overall gun homicide rate.

I am actually less able to move than most, because I have a non-transferable professional license. I cannot do my job anywhere but in California without passing some sort of licensing exam in another jurisdiction. Were I to move to Switzerland, for example, I would need to somehow become licensed to practice law in Switzerland. If someone is a waiter or day laborer, they don't have that issue.
Well, if the Governor of Tennessee said it right after he was being attacked following a mass shooting in Tennessee, it must be true.
I am not serious about the problems of school shootings or other non-street crime related gun problems, because they are not widespread and common problems. They are rare tragedies. America has gun violence problems, but they are related to gang violence and are not caused by guns. The issues are very localized, and the solutions have nothing to do with nationwide gun legislation. There are millions of rural areas and small towns with tons of guns, lax gun laws, and no gun violence problems. Kids are not the issue. The problem of gun violence in America is ongoing street wars that we are not serious about stopping, and the trend is to be less and less serious about dealing with them. California has spent the last 15 years undermining the criminal justice system here, and the gang violence has gotten worse.

Then you failed in life as a lawyer. How old are you? You have saved up enough capital to move and invest and star your own small business? Where is that gumption?

You don't own property? Sell it, move and start a business.

You mean after a group of citizens exercised their right to peaceably assemble under the first amendment? He actually said it a couple days ago so take it as you will. Stricter gun control will happen eventually as long as the people want it. We will continue to vote out these insane Republicans that continue to allow our kids to be killed while accepting bribes from the NRA to look the other way.

I have had my own business (a law firm) and chose to go into prosecution instead because I prefer the work I do. Starting my own firm it not the issue, it is that I am not legally allowed to practice law anywhere else, it would require relicensing wherever I moved (which I am not interested in doing). I am mostly fine with where I am.
Anti-gun lobbying far exceeds pro-gun lobbying both in terms of financial support and media backing.

You sound like very privileged person if you think those obstacles are what makes moving difficult.
