Nurse sounds like a coach that either didn’t expect to win or is checked out.

I used that exact quote in the documentary I directed: F Marks the Spot

They won’t let him take free throws. They should though. Coach FTs would be beautiful.

Coach free throws would be awesome! What an exceptional idea.

    Nurse?

    ...perhaps Kenny Atkinson instead.

This might be incredibly unpopular, but I really do believe Udoka - at THIS point - would be a terrible choice because I believe character matters from a position of leadership. A historically young, immature team with a young coach that very recently had maturity and decision- making flaws in his personal life that became VERY public, isn't someone I can see successfully helping this group of boys (yes, boys) mature into men and a winning team.

I could be wrong. Maybe a strong, veteran- laden staff could assuage that. Maybe his alpha personality could command a room of baby rockets. Or, maybe, likes-to-fight- and- bang-offlimits chicks-guy isn't the prudent coaching choice for a young squad.

I love his coaching acumen, no doubt. What he did with the C's was awesome, but their success this year makes me think talent is the overriding factor there. I'm not saying he can't coach. In fact, I believe he CAN. I just would need a bit more space and time from his transgressions before I turn over a team of impressionable and often emotionally volatile boys to him.

Let's be honest here, the players don't care if the coach was banging women on staff.

One thing people forget is how dysfunctional the Celtics were to start the season last year. Reports were coming out that they should split Tatum & Brown. Ime turned that culture around and reached the Finals. That's strong leadership. So what if he wasn't faithful to his wife, this about leading a team divided

You're right. They DON'T care as kids. In fact they might dap him up! Don't you see the inherent problem there?

A veteran team like the championship Spurs, with a strong, older leader like Pop, was able to get past Tony Parker's indiscretions with his teammate's wife (Erin). I can tell you that it wasn't easily dismissed or dapped up. Those guys closed rank QUICKLY and outsiders were no longer really allowed into their space while the issues got sorted out. I saw it first hand.

I don't know that a young coach with questionable values could've righted that ship.

Don't care that the Raps did poorly this season considering they have no legit shot creator, underwhelming Scottie Barnes, and 0 bench to speak of. Not his fault.

He's a great coach and would be great for the Rockets, assuming the tank is officially over.

I doubt Udoka is the leading candidate, who knows, let's cast a wider net.

Agreed. A candidate, yes. A candidate that needs to be interviewed, definitely. But not the lead horse. I'd guess Nurse, who has intricate ties to the organization and their philosophies, seems a more logical and seemless choice at this point. He's aligned with everything the team is built upon philosophically (assuming Stone isn't some Framber-level curveball) .

Because he saw Woj's tweet that Kenny is already interviewing with us, so he didn't want to miss out and want time to start prepping for his interview with us. :D

That is literally all that team has….no legit point guard and no legit center and only one superstar if we call Siakem that. Overrated team, but great coach for keeping these guys above .500. He’ll be great with the Rockets, trust me.

That said, I’ve hung out with Vogel and would always consider him an excellent choice and high quality person.

I do not think we would go for Lillard but if they decide to totally rebuild, that would shake loose couple vets.

The West is more competitive apart from 2 teams or 3....... than the East.
