Then Caserio was totally STUPID for allowing Lovie and Crew go out there and win the last game. They should have played the practice squad, protected guys who were coming back and lost the game for the number 1 pick. That way they could’ve got exactly who they wanted.
I mean this is true no matter WHAT scenario(s) exist! It was a VERY stupid and harmful set of decisions NC made by not trading Cooks earlier and then for not sitting him down! When he finally traded him in the end he only got 2 late round picks instead of a day 2 or even 4th rd. pick. (screw up #1) And then compounded it exponentially by not sitting him for the final game! (screw up #2) Not only did he possibly cause us to lose BY we also lost the advantage of having the opening pick of Day 2 and Day 3 of the draft, when teams have had the night to salivate over that 1 player they just HAVE to have and trade up for! I think Nick is just a weak GM and was probably afraid to exert any power or authority over Lovie and/or the GameDay roster. And unfortunately it screwed us BIGTIME!
I agree and have posted this before as well. I also think it's good to be ambiguous about ANY player so teams that might want Will Anderson (or whoever) also can't trade to #3 and be 100% assured they will get him! Unfortunately that's what CAR is doing to us too! grrr!
So many can't miss prospects that haven't lived up to hype. Stroud is the safest pick with a team built behind him. BY has the highest ceiling. Will Levis and Anthony Richardson should be 2nd round picks. If Texans are interested in the 3rd overall pick which is being reported, then they have probably already predetermined that they are taking the remaining QB at 2. Arizona, isn't going to wait until pick 2 is on the clock to do a deal if it has this much interest right now. Houston could have made a deal with Chicago for the first pick had it wanted to. They determined there wasn't one guy that far ahead of the other to pull the trigger on the most important position in the NFL. Then we are just going to ignore the fact they would give up even more draft capital to move from 12 to 3. I feel like Tea Leaves are def out there and of course there is some biased perspective. Notice the Panthers front office constantly leaking information to ESPN, Agents, etc that seems to find a way to the forefront despite them having full control of the draft? Feels more like a ploy to get the Texans to trade up over anything. BY is the loud one. The "owner" wants BY. It's a little ridiculous. Panthers GM on the line with Caserio. "Nick, I love both of these guys. We aren't sure who we want as the room is split. Give us some draft capital, and we will let you make the decision for us."
I don’t think BY has the highest ceiling, his potential is limited by his physical abilities. I think he has the highest floor. Levis and Richardson have the highest ceiling, but also big bust potential. Specially AR
Mental aspect of the game is lacking with both guys and its like tiers below. I don't even think they remotely have a shot. Both guys seem like total hype from agents to rise there stock.
I could see that, but both scored extremely well on S2. Richardson is well spoken and Levis has a masters in finance. I think the mental ability is there, the physical tools for both are off the charts
I don’t love Levis but I’d pick him over AR-15. I wouldn’t touch Richardson. I just don’t see it & I’ve watched him play a few times. I like Hooker over Richardson.
AR is a lottery ticket. Levis is kinda too. I wouldn’t want either at 2. Im not against Hooker, but not in the first. He isn’t a long term solution but could be a bandaid like they thought Weeden was when he was drafted.
The mind (or mental aspects) can be separated like the physical can be divided between quick twitch and power. you can be good at one and not the other, both or neither. But I wouldn't complain about the upside potential of a physical freak, who is at least smart in one way, at the most important position on the offense. He has a lower floor than Bryce and T.J., but also a higher ceiling.
Projected OL without draftees based on draft position. LT 2016 1-13 Laremy Tunsil LG 2022 1-15 Kenyon Green C 2019 3-78 Michael Dieter RG 2015 4-131 Shaq Mason RT 2019 1-23 Tytus Howard Backup Charlie Heck 2020 4-126 Scott Quessenberry 2018 5-155 Austin Deculus 2022 6-205 Jimmy Morrissey 2021 7-230
This means we shouldn't pass on a highly rated OL, even with 3 first rounders out of five. I had been focusing on C exclusively.
Oh God running it back with mills after he and lovie screwed us over the 1st pick of the draft will b mind numbling stupid as fk.
Levis reportedly scored the second best at the test that has predicted NFL success at the QB position. I’m not promoting him over Young, but your take on the mental side of the game is probably overstated.
