I mean obviously Brown is a significantly better defender but in his second year compared to Green, Green was better. Green is a more gifted offensive talent than Brown. But for him to be better than prime Brown he needs to up his defense to competent level which is very doable.
For that package it’s a lose-lose. Celtics get worse while trying to contend. For the Rockets, our window is still a while away and there’s a chance just Green alone could get on Brown’s level one day. Low probability of course but we have the time to find out.
Ya but they aren't going to trade a 26 year old who has 4-8 prime years left in him for a guy who is out of his prime and probably won't be even star level in 2 seasons.
I don't wanna give up Green, Sengun, or Smith. So I doubt Boston would accept any offer that doesn't include at least one of them.
Comes with added weight/muscle. That's a given. Michael Jordan was about 190 lbs when he entered the league. Jalen was about 174 lbs. Said he gained about 8 pounds going into year 2.
Also yes this trade is a lose-lose as another poster suggested. The Rockets trade a way two players who individually by themselves could be flat out better than Brown in 4 years and have a roster that is no where ready to contend now for a guy who is in his prime now. We would be wasting Brown's prime years being at best a middling team. For the Celtics they would add two players that aren't fully developed yet and ready to contend and the Celtics are trying to win rings now. You want to be the Knicks? That's how you become the Knicks. If you want to be mid for a decade, go for it.
Comes with added weight/muscle. That's a given. Michael Jordan was about 190 lbs when he entered the league. MJ did 3 years of college. Jalen was about 174 lbs. Said he gained about 8 pounds going into year 2.
Jalen Green also just turn the age that Michael Jordan was when he joined the NBA. Green probably is somewhere around 180-185.
Bottom feeders.... Okay, hypothetically 4 years ago should the Suns have traded Devin Booker and DeAndre Aton for PG13? And prime PG13 is a better player than Brown. He actually could playmake for others. At Jalen Green's age Brown was accessing more turnovers than assists. And people are concerned about Green's tunnel vision. Brown was worse and is arguably still worse than Green currently is at finding teammates.
How? If both players individually end up better than current Brown, then how? We would be trading for a guy who's at age where he has a 5 year window of prime years and we have a roster with him that would barely make the play In. We would be a mid team for a decade. If Jalen Green and Sengun pop off, that's a pair of star players instead of a single one and the time line matches
That isn't what I asked. I asked if four years ago when the Suns were bottom feeders like the Rockets should the Suns have traded away Booker and Ayton for a borderline superstar or star player?
No... because 4 years ago devin booker and ayton were already better than green and sengun. Like I said they are completely different players yet you keep trying to equate our scrubs to better players for some reason to make this analogy work
Yeah anyone playing around 185 or less is going to be thrown around and get fatigued earlier. https://newsbasis.com/how-much-did-prime-michael-jordan-weigh/ pre draft I said you have to draft Jalen at age 19 in order to benefit from his play when he turns 21 (3rd) season.
