Would you care about this subject naturally if zero right wing publications spammed this subject? You are agreeing with the vitriol by making it a topic in the first place. ATW is all giddy that a normie(non extremist ) like yourself thinks this is a sincere issue.
I think you are. And come on man. You spend 60% of your time on a NBA team fan message board b****ing about Wokeism and transgender people. That is extremist behavior.
You are the most intolerant person on this board, you’ve built a fantasy land around you either living very sheltered or a shir hole like SF. Extremely moderate posters have stated why very logically and soundly and you respond with militant intolerance. The same fascists that attacked Riley!
It’s not that it’s an issue that “dominating society” etc it’s that this **** is down right scary. There’s a wall of intolerance protecting delusion here . Imagine what will be next. Nobody is saying trans women can’t compete in sports, they’re saying in biological women sports which isn’t a right yet they’ve turned into one and are discriminating against ithers
Actually having hormone treatments and surgery does matter because then you are actually transitioning. As has been brought up under the rules of many sports leagues hormone levels are measured so just saying you’re another gender doesn’t qualify for competition. Som yes there might be many who say they identify as trans or are Gender fluid. That isn’t the same as the actual commitment to physical transitioning. Many things have changed that were norms for a long time in history. I presume you don’t consider it entitlements when other minority groups press for acceptance and rights? I’m going to note the same argument was made about same sex marriage. Again when you have elected politicians saying this about trans people and passing laws against trans people in the 21st C I wouldn’t call that entitlement. You don’t agree with the vitriol and that is a good reflection on your character. Argument though that trans people are “entitled” and overturning traditional norms is basically the same argument that the politician above is saying.
So.... Shouldn't we respond to gender dysphoria in the same way we respond to anorexia? An anorexic person (I'll say female, for example, though it could apply to anyone).... an anorexic woman looks in the mirror and sees herself as something that she's not - she sees herself as overweight. So she tries to apply physical changes to herself (starving herself, forced vomiting, taking laxatives), trying to change her body and appearance to be what she thinks it needs to be. Supporting her efforts ("We support you! We'll help your efforts to lose weight! We'll fight for you and help you reach your goal!") is not actually helping her and is actually bad for her. She has a severe mental disorder and the path to improvement is for her to get psychological (and, possibly, psychiatric) help with the goal of her seeing herself for who she truly is. With a gender-dysphoric person (I'll say biological male, for example).... a gender-dysphoric man looks in the mirror and sees himself as something that he's not - he sees himself as a woman. So he tries to apply physical changes to himself (clothing, makeup, tucking, perhaps surgery) trying to change his body and appearance to be what he thinks it needs to be. Supporting his efforts ("We support you! We'll help your efforts to transition! We'll fight for you and help you reach your goal!") is not actually helping him get better, is it? He has a severe mental disorder and the path to improvement is for him to get psychological (and, possibly, psychiatric) help with the goal of him seeing himself for who he truly is, right? What are your thoughts?
My thoughts are none of these conversations are sincere when the same people who say "this should be a mental health issue" then go around spamming anti-trans memes and content making them the butt of jokes and insults. Now if you mean the solution is to make fun of both anorexic and trans people and publicly shamed then both then at least id admire the consistency.
You keep trying to force people to stop talking about it. That's not the way to make things better. If you don't want to talk about it, go somewhere else. I haven't spammed anti-trans memes and I've built his thread to have an open discussion. You don't have to like it - just go away.
There are four threads about this subject on the front page of a subforum in a NBA fan team message board. That isn't natural. There are more threads about trans people than there are about rent prices or inflation. That's absurd and a sign of abject bigotry being targeted at one group.
