His swing reminds me a bit of Jason Lane on the follow through, but it doesn't look that slow.

He replaced Yuli, who did not exactly have a texbook approach at the plate.

I think that the Rangers series would be a good one for Bregman and Abreu to make their presence known........ Tucker and Alvarez cannot do all of the heavy lifting.

A lot of fans forget....... the Houston Astros finished second in the blind auction for the rights to Abreu, he was almost the Astros first baseman long term and not Yuli Gurriel.

When Jose Abreu came over from Cuba there were a lot of questions about the bat speed - but they said the same about Yordan Alvarez as well.

Jose Abreu is a vastly different player than when he was younger - he has lost a lot of weight and has worked really hard on his defense at 1st base.

As for Yuli, I will miss him turning on 99 mph cheddar but I will take the discipline of Abreu.

Is it me or does Yanier look better catching than Maldy? I think Maldy’s handling of the pitching staff is probably overrated and he’s starting to look much worse defensively.

Once everyone gets healthy and starts mashing, this offense has the potential to be 2019 spicy.

I guess if we're looking for good omens, the Astros started 6-7 the last 2 seasons as well.

Maldonado is now almost 37 years old and has played with bad injuries for the last 3 years - it is very possible that while the knowledge and desire is still present, physically he isn't the player he once was.

That metric is named after him at this point.

Eventually you'll know how to spell his name.

i doubt we will see the 2019 offense again because that was juiced ball era.

    it was hella fun though

No juice balls, but no sticky stuff or shifts. Maybe less homeruns but more offense overall.

I too have said many unkind things about Doobie on and off this forum. He’s been awesome lately though, hope he keeps making me eat crow. Apparently he’s a nice guy too, so that’s good.
