Oh yeah, I'm in agreement with you on that. You'd hope he'd be more mature and he well ... seems to be. Some people never do mature , lol. But he seems to kind of be on the up and up.
Justin Dirden hit his first homer of the year for Sugar Land. Misael Tamarez only allowed one hit (an RBI double)... but he also walked 8 in 4.1 innings.
The 4 tandem SP in Asheville and Fayetteville combined for 26 strikeouts tonight. The 2 in Corpus have another 7 thru 8 innings. Very healthy pitching depth in the system right now.
. I have total and complete faith that the astros will be able to churn out effective 6th - 8th inning relievers from now until the developmental machine breaks.
This may be a dumb question, but do they post who is starting like a few days or so in advance like MLB does on ESPN and stuff? For minor league games, I mean? I wanted to see Whitley but didn't want them to like change the pitcher on me at the last minute.
I have a question. Why do minor league teams not always have great records? Like the Space Cowboys are 3-6 (before the game ends today), why? Is it because players go up and down so much sometimes to the pros?
Yeah...but they do tandem starters (I believe it's Whitley and Solis?) so even if Solis is starting you'll see Whitley. Check the team website and twitter accounts.
Maybe this is the first season in years where he’s fully healthy? This season he looks like 2018-2021 never happened.
Development is the primary goal, not winning. So they will make sure certain players get X amount of innings or at-bats whether or not they’re the best performing players on the team or the best player for the situation.
I have thoughts and insights about this going back to his SR Year in HS...I'll put them together and type them out one of these days I will say I'm rooting for the guy, for various reasons.
