Yes. YES. YES!!!!!! If they believe neither Young or Stroud is a winning franchise QB or if they like one, but he is taken first Having a perennial 500 club is NOT THE GOAL. Or at least it shouldn't be. Those who say they HAVE to pick QB are off their rockers if they don't care about the evaluation.IN THEIR NEW SYSTEM. Young is an injury concern, but a good fit. Stroud is advertised as more of a prototype for a pocket passer, not a good fit. The D needs to swarm and there are several high motor fast players on D which FIT.
"Nick comes from the NE side where they don't pick the chalk so not getting a QB would be a surprise, but not a shock. Lot of teams didn't have Green as a first rounder and they took him with lots of house hold names on the board. Stingley over Sauce was a surprise"
The examples they are listing are ones that are embarrassingly bad and someone quoted it saying "Yes yes!" Stingley over Sauce and a guard that "lots of teams" thought wasn't good and has turned out to be bad...oh goodie let's roll with wildcard Nick!
It appears the Texan Board is 1. Young 2. Anderson 3. Wilson 4. Carter 5. Stroud Other possible 1st rd QBs - Levis, Richardson, McKee, Hooker. While certainly not a guarantee, 3 could be on board at 12 and a couple at 33.
If the Texans are letting rumors get out that they are not taking Stroud with the 2nd pick then that prevents the Cardinals from making a pre Draft trade for the third overall pick
If Texans take Anderson, I can think of a couple of teams that might trade up with Cards to grab Stroud - unless they suspect it is just a smokescreen.
