If you put the tools around Mills such as a Center, a WR, he now has a good TE, better receivers than last year. Especially after Cooks lost his mind. Stroud is not a Number 2 pick upgrade over Mills. If you said "Everything being equal who do you pick?" Then yeah pick Stroud. However, everything isn't equal. It is Stroud. Or it is Mills and Anderson, or Mills and Tyree, or Mills and extra picks. You pick Mills+ every single time.
If Arizona even suspects Texans may take Anderson instead, they may offer a trade. Or they can just wait til draft night.
Bryce Young PRO COMPARISON: Tua Tagovailoa + Teddy Bridgewater C.J. Stroud PRO COMPARISON: Dak Prescott + Jared Goff Anthony Richardson PRO COMPARISON: Carson Wentz + Jalen Hurts Will Levis PRO COMPARISON: Sam Darnold + Jay Cutler Hendon Hooker PRO COMPARISON: Jacoby Brissett + Daniel Jones
It doesn’t matter how good the team is if the QB isn’t accurate. Mills is not accurate throwing to the sidelines. That’s not a weakness that you can just scheme around. That’s a major disadvantage to any offense.
This past season he was terrible towards the boundaries, but not his rookie year. It doesn’t make sense
I will trust the process of whatever direction the team will go.. but it will be a tough pill for me to swallow if they don’t go qb at 2
I have a feeling they won’t unfortunately.. I need to apologize to Lance Z cause he might be on to something with his draft
If Bryce and or Stroud become all pros or really good QBs and they couldn't get Bryce because of a meaningless win in week 18 and pass on Stroud for whatever dumb reason and he goes to the Colts, I will never forgive this team
The comparisons are about much more. Kyler it’s just the size, it’s a lazy comparison, Mahomes it is the off-schedule, throwing at different arm angles, and anticipation. Saying “he doesn’t have the arm strength of Mahomes” is also lazy. Ryan mallet had the arm strength.. there are much more important characteristics I would like to use for comparisons.
What would hurt even more is if we don’t get Caleb nor Maye. Who everyone believes is a guarantee to get next year.
Personally, I think the most likely outcomes are... - Trade down (stay in Top 7)... get as much draft capital in 2023 and/or 2024 as possible without missing on top prospects. If ARZ is shopping pick with 6 teams, HOU could engage now or see if someone bites on ARZ pick early and then hold out for a bigger haul from the losers. Would love to see a 3-way with ARZ and SEA, where we move down one spot and get another 2nd this year and something (like 3rd or 4th) next year. - Take a defensive player - Take a QB not named Young or Stroud
Right but it's annoying how people think he's just bite size Mahomes and he's not; Bryce holds the ball too long, doesn't have the escapability that Mahomes does, etc.
