Mikal Bridges didn't score 26 points per game, lol. He only dropped 20. Only counting his numbers in Brooklyn is some real dumb sh**. Can't pick and choose, you have to look at the whole season. I'm sure we could find a 27-game stretch from LOTS of roleplayers where they got hot and scored way more than their average.
With Phoenix, Bridges had Booker dominating the shots, of course, and with what's left of Brooklyn, he gets all the shots he wants. If he were a Rocket, who'd be alongside him, acquired with that cap space? Green and KPJ would likely be dominating the ball. Bridges does, at least, play defense, a concept that has not been introduced in the Rockets locker room for a couple of seasons.
go ahead a list these "LOTS" that have done it to the level of what bridges has with the efficiency. I'll wait
I mean a rookie 19 year old averaged 22 on 59% ts with more assists and less turnovers last season in the same span of games post all-star break. Is it really that much of a difference? And that is a rookie who joined the league at 19.
That's true, it means nothing, that same rookie 19 year old (who was 20 at the time you are talking about....but we know you round down for some players ages while rounding up for others) went on to fall back into chucking ways after that hot streak and have a terribly inefficient sophomore season....at 21.
Way to twist what I said, dude. I never claimed what you just stated here. What you just did is called a "strawman argument". Look it up. My point is, nobody's winning a title with Mikal freaking Bridges as their best player, and you can book that right now. Absolute best case, Bridges is Paul George 2.0. And you know how many titles George has won? None. Zero. You know how many he's going to win as the #1 scoring option? None. Elite three-and-D guys are great to have on your team. You don't build around them and you don't give up blue chip prospects with higher scoring potential until you actually do have a guy you can build around.
While it's true 27 game samples aren't the end all, be all, when it comes to Mikal Bridges he's always been an efficient scorer....he's a career 61% TS% guy, so IMO his performance is significantly more sustainable than other players with fluke hot streaks. With Bridges it seems like the only thing that really changed was opportunity.
you literally just made that claim. tf are you talking about. it's exactly what you said. it's your own words not anyone else's who tf said you're winning a title with bridges as the best player. someone's making up stuff. it's you back up this claim that's clearly nonsense. Like i said I'll wait. But i already know you won't find this LOTS of role players doing what Bridges just did with the nets
Again, this is a strawman argument. I never said lots of players have had hot streaks equivalent to Bridges. I said lots of roleplayers got hot and scored way more than their averages for a 26-game stretch.
lmao you must be that slow that you can't even read your own post. classic cf don't make stupid claims and then act like oh i didn't mean it. gtfoh with that bs List these lots of roleplayers then. You continue to blabber but no long list is being posted
that's what i thought. Typical dumb claim that gets called out because it's stupid and false. Then the good ole I'm done with you. Ok. good. You had nothing to say to back up your idiotic claim anyway. "LOTS"
Nets are definitely considering trading Mikals, no doubt about it. Nets don't own their picks, they have a lot of great role players that will likely keep them .500 for a while, but no franchise prospects in sight. They can choose to keep Mikals and Claxton and Cam, and then hope for a big all star signing that will get them to top 4 in the East, but Joe Tsai probably has the worst reputation in the league now with how the Durant and Kyrie situation was handled. I doubt star players are lining up to sign with them. We actually can offer them a unique chance to give their picks back and do a true rebuild. It really depends on if Tsai wants to treadmill or not
Lol. I can only imagine, with bated breath, the memes that the awesome meme posters here at CF will be posting. They will have a field day if, by any stroke of luck, Udoka agrees to become the Rockets' HC. Good times await.
BTW, I wish there was an appreciation thread for the meme posters. They were the only bright spots in an otherwise gloomy NBA season.
I know the You don't need to quote the argument at me for the Nets *should* rebuild. I absolutely agree that they should. But the Rockets can't get on the phone and convince them to change their organizational direction. They're not going to change their organizational direction because someone made them a great trade offer. Currently, it is clear as day the Nets organization does not want to bottom out and rebuild. The owner doesn't and especially the GM doesn't. It's not their plan. The GM doesn't believe in it, and the organization thinks they've built without high picks in the past and can do it again. They 100% see Bridges as Harden in 2012 and Claxton as an untouchable asset. Until the GM changes or the owner demands a complete change of direction, that isn't changing. Many of their fans wouldn't even trade Mikal + picks for Luka. Much much more likely is the Nets' trading their picks for a flawed offensive centerpiece like Trae. Something like Dinwiddie + Thomas + DFS + 6 firsts (PHX + DAL) for Trae, maybe in a 3 way trade with Boston that sends Jaylen Brown to his hometown Atlanta. That would let them do Trae + Mikal + Clax as their core, which is obviously more appealing to them than tanking the next couple years with our cast-off young players.
This is true. We don’t know what the Nets will settle for. Like all teams they will ask the moon as a starting point. It really will come down to whether they will embrace a tank or will waste away the Simmons years in mediocrity and then tank. I really love the fit of Bridges with this Rocket team, but he is not worth a Duran type return and I really don’t think anyone will give them one.
