He answering a lot of questions about the 2017 playoffs but he's also being crazy. He's had drunken rants on Twitter before. In regards to his comment about Kershaw, I checked the game log from game 5 and Gattis had 1 hit, a single against Kershaw in the 3rd that didn't lead to any runs.
Slow start..... Astros have the 20th best record in MLB and the 9th best run-diff... despite being a Top 3 (assumingly) major injury team The analytics is already there. Let more time happen and water will find its level Stros are WS favorites Enjoy the historical juggernaut
I love what he’s doing, but he won’t continue to hit like this. He’s a .600ops dude given enough time
He was a 730 OPS dude his first 2 seasons in the majors while playing at 160 pounds. He's only struck out once this season and is playing above 190 pounds. He's definitely capable of maintaining what he is doing now. I'm not saying he will maintain this, but he is capable.

He'll eventually revert to form, but eventually Altuve and Brantley will return which will remove him from the everyday lineup anyway. The more important matter is that Pena and Bregman need to get it going. Especially the latter.
.650 OPS is the optimistic upside. He’s spraying the ball right now, so as long as he keeps doing that then fine. But my concern is this hot streak will keep him in the lineup when he inevitably goes 0-25
Even in the game they lost on Saturday, the offense still put up 6 runs. The pitching cost us that one. Small sample, but the Astros are averaging 6 1/3 runs since Dusty moved Pena down in the order and put Chas in the leadoff spot. Even with marginally good pitching, they'll win most of their games with that kind of run production.
Astros are 9th in ERA. Tucker, Alvarez, Chas, and Dubon are the only ones getting good results hitting at the moment. Tucker and Alvarez are the only hitting well with underlying stats to suggest they are actually hitting the ball well (i.e., xwOBA over MLB average).
