I don't think Silas' issue is knowledge and x's and O's. His main issue was he doesn't command any presence. The Rockets have a team full of 19-22 year olds who have been treated as "alphas" throughout their entire life before the NBA.

I got a promotion at work, and have been working crazy hours. Couldn't keep up with games at all, but I'm back for good now. Feels good to be back. What did I miss?

you're back at the right time when tanking commander just left for good, in another word, you simply missed some ugly tanking games.

Personally I appreciate Silas for what he was. I said the day he was hired that he was nothing more than a tanking coach...someone you bring in when the team has no hope of contention during a the bad rebuild years that you ditch when you are finally about ready to take things seriously again with a real coach.

Someone had to do that job, and it's a thankless job. He's ruined his coaching record and reputation, but he picked up a bit of experience.

Captain Edward Smith picked up some swimming experience with the Titanic too.

Offensively at least. Defensively, they are pretty cheeks.

They have one of the best offenses, but also really, really bad defense. Like close to bottom 5 bad.

...which is why I laugh when people compare Sengun to Sabonis defensively. Offense can get you some cheap regular season wins...but when playing the same team for 4-7 games, it's the defensive execution that wins titles.

I was rooting for him and wished he could have been more successful. He paid his dues over the years and seemed like a great guy and hire at the time. I hope he gets another chance down the road.
