It also increases the chances the Rockets lose their last game

The NBA has way to many silly salary rules just like this.

Yes, top 3 teams have the same number of lottery balls for the #1 pick, but don't we want to be the 2nd worst behind Detroit? If we win / Spurs lose....and then lose out on Top 4, the worst we'll get is 7th right?

If we lose / Spurs win, we end up 2nd worst....which if we lose out of Top 4, the worst is 6th. Correct me if I'm wrong....

So with the above, who knows what ****ing Silas and Pop are gonna do now they're gonna be playing against G-League teams.

My guess is ****ing Silas pulling a Lovie and going for the moral win....and Pop tanking it.

Stone needs to fire Silas on the spot tonight and coach himself.

Nah, he'll join him on the bench, play tiddlywinks, put flowers in each other's ears, and giggle like school girls since they don't give a ****.

The NBA isn’t trying to send messages to prospective owners by arranging the draft in some specific way.

All they gotta do is keep the sport heavily watched and there will always be owners. The NBA draws advertisers to a product, the owners foot the bill for the brands and players that drive the product(and in some cases the arena) and in return make nice revenue while their asset appreciates at a very favorable rate.

I’m not saying they don’t have motivations to rig the lotto - but fearing potential owners won’t buy teams if they don’t is most definitely not the reason.

First and only time I'm gonna say this:

Thank god for Mark Cuban. Sat all the starters and now the Mavs are getting killed by the Spurs. Hopefully the score holds and we'll be tied for 2nd in draft odds.

Well, at least the Spurs are beating the Mavs 108-91 in the 4th....Silas and team hasn't ****ed us over yet of being the 3rd worst.

If the Spurs win and we're tied with him, do they determine tiebreaker at the lottery?

I think it's a coin flip to determine order assuming we finish tied, as it looks like we will.

Silas could have just made it ****ing easy and play his normal bullshit lineups and rotations and we wouldn't be in this mess.

    Thank God he's gone.

Rockets gain more clarity on 2023 NBA draft picks, but coin flips await
So, what happens now that the Rockets and Spurs finished tied? The NBA will soon conduct a coin flip to determine the No. 2 and No. 3 overall slots heading into the lottery, just as they will with other ties.

Here’s what’s at stake today between being in the 2 spot vs. 3 spot in the lottery: Both have identical odds at picks 1-4 (52% collectively), but here are the rest of the odds:

    2 spot:
    5th – 27.8%
    6th – 20%
    7th – N/A

    3 spot:
    5th – 14.8%
    6th – 26%
    7th – 7%
