Can we just agree that KPjr is at minimum, an above average player...regardless of position?

I would argue that he's had more to do with keeping us in games, when we were actually tankng...plus winning some than any other player on the Rockets.

I think kpj is a poor player regardless of position, could be a decent sg though. But we will never find out cuz we have green,

He has been here for how many years, you could call him a veteran like presence. With immaturity.

Never. go with the heard. He threw some food at a coach a few years ago, so no matter what he does he can never be even a slightly above player at any position despite any bb statistics.

There’s roughly 400 players? Top 200 is probably reasonable

As a PG he is bad (bad asst/to, so much time on ball for mediocre output)while as a SG who doesn't bother on 50% of possessions (defense) he is bad.

He's not going to be given lead PG duties or usage by anyone anytime soon so he is whatever he is off the ball on defense and offense. On both sides off ball he has not seemed interested in doing well so he's basically still a project after 2.5 years. Likely to make it as a bench player but not for a contender until he improves.

I've never seen someone given such an incredible opportunity and improve so little. That's the honest truth. He had the full PG position and organizational support for 2 years and he's a barely better PG than 2 years ago.

Kpj stan: it's not his fault that he's barely a better pg than 2 years ago, his teammates just whiffs.

If Stone has a leadership bone in his body he will trade KPJ (even if we just get a second rounder back) to set the tone for next season. That will wake a lot of the youngsters up and let them know this is no joke, time is ticking.

There will be a festering thought in the young players minds that it's ok to improve as much as KPJ did these past two years and we have to get rid of that.

Not the fairest thing to KPJ but business is business.

You don't trade your best NBA player to set a tone, that is fundamentally ignorant.

You hire a coach that holds them accountable then you have said coach find out whom is going to work the right way and whom to jettison.

Right now you are making decisions on incomplete data.

For me, he's in about the top 25% of the league on offense, but he's in the bottom 15% on defense. He'd be a below-average player if you weighted those equally, but I believe offense is generally more valued around the league, and the feeling is that you can more easily "cover up" bad defense. So overall, I'd have him as just a little bit better than an average NBA player.

Since the average NBA salary is around $10,000,000/year, I think his current contract pays him about right for his value. He may have just a bit of surplus value if you think he can continue to improve. Or, he may be a net negative if you think his personality issues are too much potential trouble to take the risk. That would depend on the individual GM evaluating him, I expect.

Hopefully if we draft a guy like Scoot we can find somebody who's high on him to take him off our hands and actually give us something in return.

The Cavs traded this ultra franchise talented player for a 50/60th pick and are not losing any sleep over it, pretty sure the 20 win trifecta Rockets wouldn't either, especially since they did it to Wood who was allegedly the best player last season

The only improvement from KPJ from year three to year four was his outside shooting consistency. Outside of that he stagnated or became worse.

Not with that IQ. The numbers he puts up are on a bottom tier team where his usage is high. He's average at best. Loads of potential tho which i think he'll never tap into.
