Absolute delusion. Homer glasses really do ruin perspective. Brown was making a larger impact than Green was at the same age, on a winning team. Green is essentially stat padding on office and doing NOTHING on defense for two years while Brown has been a great two way player
Do you just make **** out of your ass? Brown at the same age was averaging more turnovers than assists. Had like a 2 percentage pt lead in true shooting percentage on significantly lower volume with 35% of his fgs made unassisted vs Green at 60%. So completely different ways they scored. Green scored as the center of defensive attention off the dribble and Brown was mainly a off ball role player. So he better damn have a significantly higher scoring efficiency and he didn't. . Defense is the one thing Green needs to improve drastically if he wants to clear prime Brown easily. But I have zero doubt Green will be a better offensive player than Brown.
Context matters. The celtics were already a playoff team and were able to take advantage of the previous net trade rape to draft a talent like brown at number 3. It was also insane that they were able to draft tatum at number 3 the next season while in playoffs. We drafted jalen green on a shtty tanking team with an incompetent new hc, and no pg. I would say to b fair, gotta see green in a better environment before shtting on green. Stat padding, pffft. If green didn't put up stats on this team, u probably would b one of the first to b calling him a bust or some sht.
The way I see it is the same way Celtics fans themselves see it as I live I. New England talk to Celtic fans daily. Green is a more offensively gifted version of Brown when they were sophomores. Green is projected to be a better offensive player but a worse defensive player.
That man type his heart out with stats to back it up, and of course u double down on your kpj "stan"ce with very little things to back it up aside from generic observation. KPJ is supposedly the better player and further developed than green while being the similar in age, but guess what? KPJ is a 4th year vet while green is only a 2nd year player. Selective memory when talking about how close in age they are. It's a common pattern u see with kpj stans, thinking kpj and green are in the same draft class or some sht.
Also they are two years apart in age. For some reason DD thinks they are 1 year apart. His math is really bad.
I give Segun only fans a lot of flak, but honestly the Jalen Green fanbois are just as bad, there just aren't as many of them....but the delusions are worse because Jalen is a significantly worse player at this point in his career....despite being older.
Lol dude. You go around stanning for a #30 pick who got kicked off his original team for throwing tantrums, has likely already peaked, and is probably on his way out the door, then slam people for liking our actual prospects who project to be a long-term part of the franchise's future. Okay, man.
My guy, I'm just a Rockets fan, I don't "stan" for any individual player....also, do you really think a 22 year old player has "peaked"...c'mon, you have to know that's just stupid even for a Jalen Green fanboi. Right now, Jalen Green is a high volume, low efficiency scorer who is a catastrophe defensively. By all means, be excited about what you think he could become, but it's no reason to feel you have to run down better players to try to elevate your favorite player. That's really the calling card for player first or player only type fans.
What is even funnier is how he pretends to preach unity and not being divisive and then immediately turns around and calls people who disagrees with his KPJ takes nincompoops and other names.
When discussing Green and KPJ, we also have to acknowledge the different rate of progress for each player. I think the past two seasons have shown that Green has a stronger work ethic. He came into the league a weaker player with less muscle mass than KPJ and in a span of a year and a half is now a stronger player physically who can absorb contact better than KPJ. That is one example of how Green's rate of progression is on an entirely different level than KPJ.
For sure, you know, the progress from a pretty bad 54.7% TS% last year to a stellar 53.8% TS% this season shows MASSIVE improvement. Also, going from being the worst defensive player on the Rockets roster last season to being.....the worst defensive player on the Rockets roster this season, you just can't teach work ethic like that. LOL, I look forward to the day when Jalen Green will actually be a good player and will actually have shown progress so his fanbois don't have to embarrass themselves like this.
There's that amazing analyst we all know and love. The way you toss around "worst" one of the worst, & many other negatives to describe Green, Jabari, Sengun, etc has always just made me laugh. Absolutely on the same level as those few SOF's that make claims of him "being better than Lillard, Harden, etc". Comical. What tells you that Jalen Green is "a significantly worse player at this point in his career"? Would it be shooting percentage? Has to be a huge one as I know you're big on that. Let me tell you why those that are high on JG are. We can throw around a ton of crazy stats as far as what all three of Jabari, Sengun & Green have done at their young ages compared to others throughout history. If you don't believe me, follow Bradeaux on Twitter. He's great for those. And many of them are awesome. Really give Rockets fans something to be excited about for our future. Would much rather look at those and along with factoring in the situation all our guys are in, be optimistic about their futures. Not pound the table with how bad they've shot the ball or been. But, then again, you wouldn't be you if you stopped doing that. I love Al-P. My last tweet about him was saying I find myself smiling during his post game interviews like I did with Luis Garcia of the Astros last year. I love Jabari. My last tweet about him was showing his stats in his last 19 games. Why in the world would anyone be high on Jalen Green? Maybe because through his first 142 games he has a higher TS% than anyone he's been compared to. Booker. LaVine. Ant. Beal. Mitchell. All of them. Here's some very notable players have performed with TS% through their first 142 games. JG 54.2 Ant 54.0 Booker 53.5 Mitchell 53.4 LaVine 52.5 Beal 51.5 And just for you, DD... KPJ 53.1 P. George 54.5 Morant 54.9 Jaylen Brown 55.0 SGA 55.7 Lillard 55.9 It appears he's right on track with some of the best players in the NBA today. So when you throw out ridiculous statements about how bad he is, it just makes zero sense. None. The other day I looked up some other notable players and how they performed in Real Plus Minus their first two seasons. (idk how/why but it changes daily, even if the player doesn't play). Here's what their rookie and second season looked like as far as RPM. JG -0.35, 2.00 SGA -2.60, 0.38 Ant -1.14, 3.38 Kobe -1.51, 0.75, 0.19, 2.49 Mitchell 1.95, 0.52 Beal -0.88, 1.15 LaVine -5.89, -3.05 D Wade -0.40, 1.65 Lillard 1.88, 1.27 Jaylen Brown -1.45, 3.13 Curry -1.24, 2.79 K. Thompson 0.74, 0.10 KD -3.30, -0.04 Harden 1.42, 1.54 Iverson -2.21, 0.45 R. Allen 0.54, 0.03 T-Mac -1.13, 0.89 Manu 0.45, 2.27 Vince 2.96, 4.12 (crazy!) And for you, DD.... KPJ -4.57, -2.19 I already addressed defense earlier. When the entire Rockets team is near the bottom of the defensive rating stats that doesn't give you much to go on and is evidence it's heavily team based. He's far from as bad as you claim when you look at iso defense & defensive real plus minus as well as some other on ball ratings. No question he has struggled with rotations and ball watching. But when in a competitive situation and locked in, he's proved extremely capable of guarding elite players on the perimeter. For the "stat pad" group, last season the Rockets were 1-7 in games he scored at least 30 points. This season they're 8-8. He and Al-P's RPM have been basically the same every time I've checked recently. If you exclude the blowout loss in Memphis, Green leads the team in plus/minus at -6 since March 1st and has only had 3 of 19 games in which he had a double digit minus. This without question matches the eye test. For anyone who actually watches, it's obvious how he's improved in recent weeks. The team has simply been more competitive with him on the floor. Maybe you'll point to Al-P's better fg% or TS%. No question it's higher than Jalen's. But, two things jump out about that for me. The average TS% for centers this season is 63.4 (or was as of last night). Al-P is at 60.0, down 3.4 percentage points. (also, while Jalen is above many of those he's often compared to, Al-P is behind the player he's most often compared to in Jokic... through their first 146 career games Jokic had a TS% of 61.7 and Al-P is at 58.0... Jokic was at 64.0% in his 2nd season, Al-P is at 60.0%. He IS significantly ahead of Sabonis though!) The average TS% for shooting guards is 57.0 this season. Jalen is at 53.8, down 3.2 percentage points. (he's at 55.2 in his last 34 games, since January 13 and 57.0 in his last 13 games). One huge encouraging sign for me is how he's finishing his 2nd season compared to how Ant finished his. In his last 34 games Green has averaged 23.4 ppg on 43.0% fg's, 36.0% on 3's, 78.1% on FT's, with 3.8 assists. Today will change these some. Edwards last 35 games of his second season he averaged 20.3 ppg, 44.0% fg's, 33.6% on 3's, 77.1% FT's and 4.0 assists. Ant had KAT, D-Lo, Beasley, McDaniels, Bev, Nowell, Naz, Vanderbilt and won 46 games. If you don't think it's easier to be efficient playing with better players - on a better team - as opposed to being the focal point of NBA defenses as a 20 year old (yes, he just turned 21), I don't know what to tell you. There's a reason O.T. shot 55.9% from the floor with the Rockets while Dream shot 51.3%. There's a reason Pau shot 52.2% with the Lakers (a career high) and Kobe shot 44.7%. It's not hard (well, for most people). Edwards has followed up that finish with a 56.5 TS% and an All Star game this season. Can/will Jalen? Who knows. But a lot of stats sure seem to show he very well could and is trending that way. There's just no way you can make some of the outrageous claims you do about him & expect anyone to take you seriously. It's comically bad.
Hilarious. I can't believe I actually responded to one of your posts. Gonna slap myself for giving in and doing that. I'll log out and leave it to you so others can enjoy these brilliant takes that make complete sense. Keep doing you, Bobby! We all get SO much out of your posts, brother.
That entire wall of text was merely making excuses for poor performances and saying "well other players struggled at some point too"....that's not really refuting what is being said. The point has always been about what his current level of play is, not some fantasy about what he'll be in 5 years. He is currently something of a chucker that is absolutely pathetic defensively. He doesn't have a terribly good handle, he doesn't have a terribly high BBIQ, he isn't a terribly good passer....he's just a highly athletic player who can make some flashy highlights every now and again who more often than not just prays to get bailed out by a whistle. That's the player he currently is, your wall of cope doesn't in any way change that. See the thing here is you see me accurately pointing out what he is and you get upset because you completely ignore what he currently is and focus only on the fantasy of what you think he will become. I'm not saying your fantasy is necessarily wrong, though it probably is overly optimistic, I'm just saying that right now he's WAY over hyped by his fanbois. The truly hilarious part about the Jalen fanbois is that they go on blind faith that he's going to magically become the greatest player ever, while at the exact same time running down young players who are significantly ahead of him in development....like I said, that's the calling card of the player first or player only fan.
When you see dung on the side of the the road, you don’t pick it up and interact with it, right? So why aren’t you doing the same with BTG who is truly a POS pretending to be human?
