Question is why did the Bulls win the game? They should be tanking too. Edit: Makes sense now. Bulls lose their pick to Orlando unless it’s in the top 4.
C Wood sure wasn't that player Mavs were expecting as well. Sure, he got great stats on great efficiency, but his defense sucked so bad.
Mavs really tanked to keep their pick embarrassing season for Luka and the Mavs I remember when they left Harden off of all the All-NBA teams when the Rockets disappointed coming off a WCF appearance. Something tells me they won’t keep that same energy for Luka…
Been listening to a lot of end of season awards talk on different podcasts and this is the same thing I keep thinking about when I’m hearing what everyone is saying. All these guys in the West on teams seeded 5th or lower(or out of the playoffs entirely) whose teams have been huge disappointments and yet they are saying these guys are “locks” to make an all nba team. Doesn’t make sense.
That's what I've always said. Even if you are lucky enough to land a generational player (which is very, very lucky), you still need to be able to build a contender around him fast enough before he forces his way out. This is true especially if you are not a big market team. Rockets fans be warned. The Wemby dream is just half of the equation, maybe even less than half.
Well, a committed, 3 year rebuild is a good way to go for that. Hopefully we already have most of the supporting cast in place for whoever emerges as our franchise player, whether that's one of the current guys, Wemby, or somebody else from this upcoming draft, and they'll all peak around the same time. Anything we're missing in terms of roleplayers, we have lots of cap flexibility to address that need.
Damn, what if the NBA decides to strip Dallas of their lottery pick this year or give it to the Knicks as punishment? That would......... be a shame.
Shouldn't they investigate the Rockets for inserting Daishen Nix at crucial moments multiple times over the season?
They'll just give the Spurs the first pick, the Hornets the 2nd pick (to help with the sale), and the Bulls the 3rd pick to keep it from conveying to Orlando and take care of it that way. Hook up the Spurs, MJ, Chicago, and NY in one lottery.
