    A friend's mom worked as a psych nurse for years. She was always a bit off.

    I used Costco travel once. I booked a Caribbean vacation with them for absolute dirt cheap (talking like under $1000 bucks all in, air-fare, all-inclusive, and everything for two people for 4+ nights or something crazy). Three days after I booked I got a call from them saying that the rate was a mistake and they'd have to cancel my trip. This was a bit of a pisser because I'd already told the wife and got her all excited and we planned our PTO, childcare, etc. I let the Costco agent know this and they were very sorry but went through with the cancellation.

    Two days later I got a phone call from that agent's manager letting me know that due to the inconvenience they caused me, they were going to send me a $1000 Costco gift card in the mail to make up for it. Mind you, I didn't pound the table for this. They just did it out of their own sense of duty.

    I got the card and bought new tires for my truck and groceries for a month.

    A++++ would book again.

    Other than that, yeah, Costco Travel is great *IF* you have a family. For solo/partner travelers it seems a bit overkill and also the places they tend to offer are very family friendly.
