I pretty much agree with @Nook and @peleincubus - it should go without saying that any human being should be treated with respect, regardless of skin colour, race, gender, gender identity, sexual preference, or whatever.

I will not pretend that I can fully put myself into the shoes of people with unusual "identify as" preferences - doesn't mean I will purposely hurt or disrespect them.

But at the same time, I don't think that "victimhood activism at the expense of others" is something I can ever find acceptable.

OK, you are a biological male who thinks he should be a woman. Fine. But that doesn't mean you get to beat (up) women in sports, in their competition. Also doesn't mean you get to invade their dressing room.

(To me, it also doesn't mean that you can dictate to everyone else how they should address you or feel violated. You can have your subjective "identify as" preferences, but if that doesn't match what other people objectively perceive, you cannot blame them for it.)

But @rocketsjudoka says "oh, some women are ok with it" - yeah, they don't object because they know this is what happens when you speak up as a woman - these hateful, radical activists, most of them biological males, shout you down and threaten you.

And woke folks like some of the posters on this board enable this.

And as I asked another poster. Do you extend that to when those on the right , attack and shout down those who you don't agree with?

the debate in this country is not between small minds and collective minds, but rather between collectivism and individualism.

The debate is between people who can't handle things that seem "weird" or "demonic to them so try to mock, belittle and dehumanize those folks, and people who don't seem to worry so much about it.

Subjecting women isn't what bothers you or any of the other posters on this board that regularly vote for candidates pushing anti-abortion legislation, never commented on issues regarding gender inequality until a small amount of transgender folks were involved.
