This, a 1000 x this. I keep asking "do you want him to guard the paint and the 3-point line at the same time"? We keep getting killed from the perimeter, not in the paint.

I respect this but Sengun has more BBIQ in his fingers than all of those guys.

This Core discussion I deem as overrated.

You get Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Randle.

You see the Core discussion tilt very quickly.

Returns are still early, but G League Ignite alumni aren't exactly setting the NBA ablaze. I wonder if that was the wrong decision for Scoot.

If the Rockets are willing to lose the Chinese market by moving Jeremy Lin, I think they're willing to lose the "Turkish Market". Which is what 6 fans on here who only start threads about Sengun?

I would be surprised if the "Turkish market" features into the Rockets' decision making in any way. I would assume they care about on court basketball considerations. But Alperen Sengun is the player most Rockets fans (not just Turkish Rockets fans) love to watch the most.

    Lol.

Jerry is an Taiwanese American from Palo Alto I believe, sure, he had some Chinese followers but he was never viewed as someone born and raised there, from there.

    He is an American.

Joe Tsai has more Chinese Mainland ties than Jeremy Lin, and he is Taiwanese American as well.

Also needless to say Alpe is million times more special than Jerry for that matter.

Dude is like the best Turkish player for now, better than Turkeyglue, Asik and Destroy and Okur who schooled Yao.

New Yorkers were more excited about Linsanity than the average Chinese Joe.

Mostly it features in the merchandise department and televised games out there.

Yeah, I said it bluntly but someone of Alpe's relevance in his home country, that is going to be big for any team he is being part of.

Of course his on court performance will ultimately determine his status.

Basketball is a beautiful game if played correctly.
Sengun is the only guy who plays beautiful basketball in Houston at the moment. Tari,JGreen,Bari and TyTy give us hope for future.

Houston is not a big market in NBA and does not have enough fandom numbers to pay extra for watching unique players.
NY,LA,Oakland,Boston,Philly are the places to promote special players.

Sooner or later one of big market franchise will poach Sengun from Rockets. Hope it will be an East Coast team which will give to European fans to follow him at the midnight starting games. Otherwise it will be a torture to watch games starting at 4 a.m.

The services of Sengun&Tari are too luxurious for the Rockets. The problem is not shopping/trading Sengun&Tari but how to retain their services beyond the rookie contracts. It is a huge task for the org which will likely fail.

Our entire squad can't play D. Sengun is just singled out because we don't notice the back-court players chilling outside the frame.

There were good Turkish NBA players (Okur,Hedo,Ilyasova), average ones (Cedi, Omer Asik) and failed ones (Korkmaz,Turkcan,Kutluay,Erden.Aldemir,...).

Turks will follow the good ones in NBA, otherwise Euroleague are more genuine/competitive/local to follow. Sengun projected to become the best Turkish NBA player (even better than Memo Okur and Hedo Turkoglu) and will have followers wherever he plays as long as he has a successful career. He is not the first Turk there or won't be the last but he might be the first multiple champion/all-star. He has the potential. It is not possible to fulfil his potential in a delusional team but Houston also has potential to be a functioning organisation. Better chance than recent Kings (what a disgusting two decades) or higher possibility than Pistons/Hornets/Magic/OKC.

How many Turkish MVPs at age 18 before joining NBA do the Rockets have to this day?

    Just being curious.

I think he means Dillon. Would be a crazy trade. Or he means Bridges. Would also be crazy.

    Cliff notes:

    1. Silas will be gone.
    2. KPJ PG experiment has failed.
    3. Sengun (who has value) might be on the trade block.

    :p

Stoned Stone isn't much of a trader so I rather he hold onto Sengun and let a professional trade him.

Of course he wants the guy to come back who played him 10 more minutes than he deserved and let him run ISOs all day for three years. Going to be a rude awakening when he has to play under a real coach in a real offensive scheme...

I laughed at awakening, this dude is so injury prone for a young player.

He is automatically missing 25 games a season.

In deep slumber resting his legs.
