As of now both senators in the state the judge is coming from has to approve the judge that the president nominates. For all of the criticisms that Tate Reeves and other Red State a governors have leveled at Joe Biden he is still working with them to offer federal help over the recent tornadoes that have devastated those states. Contrast this with Trump who threatened to withhold aid to blue states during disasters and undermined states COVID responses by withholding PPE and other aid.
