The Texans are more than a QB away folks. Ryans has also just been surrounded by a solid organization that has made it far in the playoffs in recent years with Jimmy G at the helm.

I hope he works some of that into Caserio’s thoughts. Yes, it’d fun to have a Josh Allen, but Jimmy G has made it further with a complete team and system around him.

I really wish this team would get creative like testing the waters on Mac Jones, Trey Lance, or maybe even Zach Wilson. You could get any of those players for a fraction of what we’ll do at 1.2 and it either works or you’ve spent little and next year you are up high and go all-in on a better QB class.

Depending the asking price but I would trade a 4th round pick for Trey Lance so you can test the waters with him, if it doesnt work, then you go next year for a QB.

No it isn’t. If it was, you’d trade 12 and not 2.

I can't fathom how this would be true, and I don't even like Stroud and don’t think he's any good, but don't try to bring up a QB thats no better than Mills just to bring down another.

    You're basically saying Mills >>>>>>>>>>>CJ.

I am. I don’t believe CJ will be good.
And Mac had a really good rookie season.

I still haven't seen a post that tells me the difference between Bryce and Tua/Jones.

He played very well until Patricia became OC.

Precisely. Even a 3rd is worth the gamble in my mind. Anything 3rd or lower also gives them the “we tried, now we pivot” if it doesn’t work out. If we completely flop at 1.2, we won’t rectify it if we pick high next year and Williams/Maye are there.

Said differently, are folks that much more confident that Stroud is better than Lance to invest an extra few rounds higher in capital to get him? I’m not sure I’d make that bet and that’s where, ironically, I would hope DeMeco points to the 49ers Lance investment vs Purdy. I wouldn’t put any of this year’s QBs significantly ahead of Mac or Lance, so if you can get them cheaper, we can also target Anderson and other needs with our first rounders.

Kinda annoying when ppl ignore your question and just state whatever they want to fit their narrative huh?
BTW, unrelated, did you know that no qb Bryce’s size has ever won a championship????

No, but thanks for the heads up. What size was Wilson.

What's the difference between the three QB's?

Just some QB's that are of the quality of the QB's in this draft.

But hey, at least they aren't glorified RB's playing QB.

You couldn’t get the same return for 12, obviously.

One won a Heisman under 6 foot. Others were runner ups.

Put Bryce on the ‘18 Bama team with Waddle, Riggs, Jacobs, Harris x2, Jeudy. In contrast out Mac in the 2021 team with that o line, his 2020 stats would’ve been significantly different.

    Also from the horses mouth.
“I wouldn’t say I see similarities between his game and my game,” Tagovailoa said. “I think he’s really instinctive. He can extend plays really well and he has a really good arm and he’s really talented, but I wasn’t a runner like him. He can, he can run.”

they’re different players but you’re bucketing them together since they all are went to Bama as QB’s. Tua played at Bama as more of a gunslinger, Mac played more as a pure pocket passer and Bryce was the best improviser/processing reads/scrambler.

With arguments like yours you may as well ask what’s the difference between Trubisky and Maye.

You aren't trading the No.2 pick for Mac Jones either. Stop it!

Not at all, Tua/Young/Jones are all pocket passers who can move around the pocket and can run for 5/10 yds when you need it. They all have avg arms and I would say Jones has the best arm of the group. But it's not an arm like Richardson or Levis. They're all good at processing due to working with BOB.

If you want Tua/Jones then Young should be the pick.

Instead of comparing Maye/Trubiski, I think a better comparison should be Stroud/Haskins.

The point was - comparing QBs at a school is a pointless idea in terms of their NFL success.
