Anybody know about Corey Lee? He is listed as a 48 year old LH pitcher on the sugar Land roster. Why?

I think Cesar Cedeno used to do that too.

He's also listed with the same number as Korey Lee.

Maybe an April Fools joke that didn't get removed?

Whitley might be making his major league debut in the very near future unless he's hurt or something.

My guess is he’s just piggybacking like everyone else, and it’s his turn to come on in relief this round. They appear to have 10 guys they are keeping stretched out in sugar land. Hansen, Bielak, and Garcia all have also started and arent slated to start this week either. This makes sense because it keeps guys on the same 5 man rotation schedule they’d be on in the majors while also keeping as many guys stretched out as possible. It works because they can keep 2 extra pitchers on the roster in AAA since it’s 28 instead of 26. I bet Whitley throws 3-5 innings in relief tonight or tomorrow.

    Looks like the pairings are:
    Hansen and Endersby
    Bielak and Murray
    Garcia and Dubin
    France and Tamarez
    Solis and Whitley

Looks like Wednesday is the day to go watch the Cowboys.

Wow. Whitley and Solis. That's alot of potential right there. At different points in time weren't they both considered the teams best pitching prospect?
Whitley I know for sure. Solis was considered better than Javier, Framber, and Garcia.
    So that's a hell of a tandem

While he was pretty bad overall in the game, JP France averaged 95 mph with ~2500 rpm on his fastball yesterday. Fangraphs last report on him had him sitting 91-93 t95. I really like having that AAA statcast data. It's pretty interesting to see the range of velocity and movement that France gets on his pitches. Hopefully he can get his command figured out.

If nothing else France should be able to be a really effective 2 inning RP for a few seasons.

Throwing strikes is such a fluid term for the Astros. He's really close to Javier-Enoli line that divides what is acceptable in the majors for high K guys (though Enoli seems to have gotten worse since 2020).

Roster limbo. My guess is he is injured and still in extended spring training rehabbing. He is not on the 40 man so it’s possible he has been released and it hasn’t come thru the transactions page yet.

Pretty stacked lineup for Asheville. Hopefully Ullola can throw some strikes today.

He had his moment of glory, and has paid for it.
