I would do this and have been promoting it from the beginning, but the Texans seemed to be locked in to Young if he is available. Hooker will probably be available at 20 if they like him.

I agree with him as to why Young should be #1 but he contradicts himself. If the Panthers believe Young is clearly 1 why would they have even called the Texans or the Cardinals? They would have only negotiated with the Bears.

Wouldn't spend a pick in the 20s on Hooker, and rather just wait for next year but get the reasoning.

Overshown’s athleticism could be interesting in certain packages but can’t see him being a viable 3 down LB.

Man, just got done watching the video someone posted of Seth Payne saying why he wouldn't draft Van Ness at #12.

He posted the spider chart/graph of LVN alongside the one of JJ Watt coming out.
LVN's chart looked like the state of Texas.........COMPARED TO THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!
JJ's blew his away so badly it wasn't funny!

LVN was only in the 8th percentile for bench press  and the 24th percentile for the broad jump.
Seth did show great reps LVN had against Skoronski and P. Johnson
but also showed him getting handled quite easily as well.

I know Demeco came from San Fran who are BIG on height weight athleticism minimum standards.
I wonder if that may lower LVN on our draft board a bit?

Yeah, I think most expected better bench press numbers. But he has great play strength and burst.
He also has super long arms

    Yeah and 11" hands iirc.
Also the only areas JJ wasn't at least very good at were arm length and 40 time.
40 time is almost meaningless to everyone but corners and wr's!
The 10yd split is much more meaningful.
And unfortunately LVN also only scored in the 50th percentile for that!

My worry is if he isn't able to get into the chest of his man with those long arms will he be able to win.
When Seth showed the clips of LVN being handled he said he saw that happen on tape "not infrequently"!

I mean even if you get 1 sack a game but are handled on the other 60-70 plays you're on the field that's not a win!

I'm not sure where I stand on LVN any more but I probably would put Nolan Smith at the top of my wish list for #12 now.
Maybe Bijan depending on how I feel.
I'm also really high on dt Calijah Kancey but am hoping he falls to 2-1!
If not him de Will McDonald IV.

Not that I agree with it, but I'd love this result on Yahoo Sports - K. D. Drummond

    1-2 Young QB
    1-12 Carter DI
    2-33 Mayer TE
    3-65 Herbig ED
    3-73 Wilson WR

Yeah. I'd prefer Anderson at 1-2.

This fit's nicely with a trade of Mills for Jones. It's may not be the QB of the future, but it could be. I could conceive that nothing additional would be required since it trades extra rookie contract time for a quick decision on a higher priced 5th year option. option.

I might also consider Atlanta as a trade partner for moving down. Pick up their 2024 1st + to move down 6 places. No reason to let ARI assume it's the preferred trading partner. In theory, I'd trade down to 3 and then trade down to 8, picking up 2024 picks.
