I liked that block in 4th quarter. I think it was 108-112. Jalen was also great on defense on that possesion.
This dude is 19 for another month and for the PF position he brings NBA calibre defense, rebounding and shotblocking every game consistently. Kevin Garnett could not do that in his rookie season. Only Tom Gugliotta and Mark Davis from the Wolves roster were worse defenders than Garnett in Garnett's rookie season (according to the imperfect defensive rating stat) out of 15 players on the roster. Jabari is going to be a known great defender, he's not giving up on that anytime soon and it wouldn't surprise me to see him in the conversation for All Defense third team next season if there was such a thing (I think they only do 2 teams). His shot has dipped again the past 2 games, but I can see it's because his defender is adjusting to his hot streak and it's creating more space for Jalen than we've seen previously in the season. If you watch any 3 interviews with Jabari you'll quickly realize he'll be back in the gym fairly quickly this summer. I'm so excited for him to polish the 3pt shot and add some muscle. WTF dude how did we land this guy at #3.
yeah. that is not how he looked when he was drafted. It's def possible that has effected his shooting this year as well.
Yeah, he looks stronger, and his rebounding is getting better and better. BTW, we have three guys that are very good at offensive rebounding, Tari, Bari, and Alpi. Maybe that's because we miss a lot of shots.
That is why it was a risk to nurture him as a shooter at infant's age. Shooters shouldn't be crafted, it comes naturally.
Jabari has already improved tremendously at rebounding. His jump shot gets all the attention, but the speed of his growth on the boards has been phenomenal. There were times the first half of the season when I wondered if he might be more of a 3, but now I'm getting totally sold on him as a big man who should be able to deliver double-doubles night in and night out in his prime.
jabari at just 19 already has a better turnaround than KG's clips in that video -- he's more fluid with a quicker and higher release
It's a bit much to say "future KG" just yet with Jabari. Just happy that he's looking like he will be a very good starter in the NBA with serious upside for more.
Hahahaha, he reposted and had to "edit" it. Changed out n***a to lil bruh. Rockets PR must of got on his ass.
