Bro….. Christian Wood was toxic garbage on the Rockets, he wasn’t a scape goat, he was and is a loser. As for Porter… you act like he is new to the league, he has now completed 4 seasons in the NBA and has been a negative on the court every season.
My guess? He will believe that Scoot will play behind him - because he has been told by the GM and HC he is the leader of the team and never has had to be responsible for being an ******* and not following team rules. After Henderson outplays him and becomes the starter? He will complain and asked to be traded and will be surprised there isn’t a lot of interest. What do I hope he does? He doesn’t worry about his ego, he plays hard as a 6th man and sticks around as a valuable player in the league for the next decade. He has some value as a Lou Williams type player off the bench or Jamal Crawford. He has improved as a shooter and can exploit other teams benches.
Its why I said allegedly, and we can only truly get it from Mobley himself on rather he wanted to or not You never invest in someone who doesn't want your sponsorship, and as I stated it was a back n forth decision for me leading up to the draft, and in the end Tilman made a business decision because once both hit their prime Green will more likely be box office$ and that is the bottom line in sports biz rather we agree or not
Box office in the NBA is attendance. Attendance was never the best thing about TC. It is not MSG or Staples Crypto. Com. This biz decision isn't going to pay the dividends he envisioned. People leave the place before the game is over because of traffic or because they liked to. Green or Mobley ain't going to change anything. http://www.espn.com/nba/attendance/_/year/2018 Attendance when they had Harden. http://www.espn.com/nba/attendance
Some KPJ rankings for y'all: True Shooting Percentage: #138 in the league Effective Field Goal Percentage: #94 in the league Player Efficiency Rating: #82 in the league Win Shares Per 48 Minutes: #154 in the league Value over Replacement Player: #98 in the league Offensive Rating: #309 in the league Defensive Rating: #479(!!!) in the league This guy is not a rookie, he's not a second-year player, he's not even a third-year player. He's at the end of his fourth year in the league. He wasn't picked high in the draft. Nobody ever hyped him as the next big anything. Heck, he's not even a prospect anymore, he's solidly in the "journeyman" category. In a couple of years they're going to be calling him a veteran, if he manages to keep his ego under control and stays in the league. And this is the player some number of you, apparently a pretty small number, thankfully, want to build around?!
box office players to me is those who attract their home(and away) attendance mixed with jersey sales/tv games/commercials etc, the biz is about making $ its why I spoke my 2 cents on that The faces of the NBA (and other leagues) are box office with LeBron being the ring leader of that group for a while Never said TC was MSG/Crypto, but its a reason why those markets go and try to get stars(box office) type players because they bring the fans to the arena, even though NY/LA will still sellout based on tradition and they benefit from having a drove of box office entertainers in attendance, which is why they try to get superstar type players to appease that fanbase Winning helps as well, and Harden with the Rockets was box office to the Rockets, being he put on a show worth watching/paying for and had the Rockets competing and in playoffs every year which kept them in the mix getting prime box office tv games(Christmas etc) Its why I said once they hit their prime Green will probably be more box office than Mobley, since he has that more flashy style that is more akin to Jordan/Kobe etc which is more attractive to the avg fan
I strongly disagree with you about KPJ, but couldn't agree more with Silas. It's hard to believe that he actually said that, but he did. The guy, in my opinion, is busy committing Seppuku with his career. Maybe he's been doing what he was told to do - lose games, but to come right out and say his assistants were making good suggestions, and Silas essentially said they were making good suggestions, and he blew them off for a month? Maybe I'm missing something, but that looks freaking weird from where I sit. Could be that I need a new chair, but I don't think so.
It's actually crazy that Silas basically asked KPJ for permission. With a new coach, this stuff must be over.
I think you misunderstood. KPJ was at the scores table and went back and TALKED to Silas and asked him to let Josh continue to play. However, as you saw KPJ eventually came back into the game. I really think your hate for KPJ is distorting your interpretation. How someone can take an act of kindness towards a teammate and turn it into a selfish act says a lot about that person, dont you think?
You have to realize, ATW has a pathological condition when it comes to KPJ, he is simply incapable of comprehending positive news about the player. I mean, KPJ had 20/9 in the game AND was an awesome teammate? ATW will have to start at least 20 insane threads tomorrow to cope.
Impossible. Doncha know that at age 19 he got mad and threw some food at a coach 19 after they gave his locker away to a new player coming in.
