Are you talking about Jalen Green? If so, may I gently ask if you have ever watched a game of basketball in your life?
If he gets 37.3 min/game like Lee did in that season, he will beat Lee's 20.2/11.7/3.6 and 1.0 stls, 0.5 blks. If we finally get a decent coach, his minutes might still be lower, but his per 36 will be better than Lee's already.
You've already accounted for that in your statement. I don't think he will better those numbers next season (wherever he is playing, I don't see him as a lock to be playing in Houston next year)
Both are crafty post scorer. Scola is a much better shooter from midrange. Sengun is a much better passer, and has more lift. I love Scola because of his attitude. Never give up. Always play hard. Sengun seems to have it too, but sometimes he gets discouraged. Scola never gets discouraged.
David was the furthest thing to compare in playing style. He was a working player, nothing fancy. It's like taking art and industrial design. Both are in demand.
It's so tiring watching this board serially underrate international players and set a higher standard for them. Almost every single international player acquired by this franchise was better than expected when acquired except Vspan. It's so odd. They're our players. Overall (basically the median opinion will underrate him) the board is unlikely to be right about Sengun so just sit back and watch them get surprised then jump on the bandwagon cause he'll clear all their standards on the way anyway and we'll be left with only the goal post movers. Sengun can reasonably have exactly the same career output as Webber but they don't want to hear it because it looks different in their eyes. 20/10/5 at the same age Webber did it or younger will happen for Sengun.
When I first saw Sengun in some pre-draft scout video posted here, I was like “Oh ****, a 6’10” Scola who can dunk!” He already had the footwork and the patience in the post at 18. If a player reminds you of a bigger Scola, DRAFT HIM.
Yeah, I was wrong on this one, Sengun is WAY better than Scola. Taller, more athletic, better defense, and much better playmaking. Consider the crow cooked and eaten, happily. (Still love ya, Luis)
Luis was solid and borderline All Star bench dependable but my memory of his game was boring and slow. I mean maybe his ceiling would be higher if he went straight to the NBA rather than when he was near his peak while Alpi needs another 3-5 years for his body to mature. Amazing how 1.5-2" of height make that big a difference within a couple years. Very Giannis like
Scola is one of my favorite all time players, I see a lot of similarities with Sengun - though Scola was never used as a focal point on the Rockets he was an amazing player especially internationally - Sengun is going to get a lot more chances to be "THE DUDE" and deservedly so....both are great Rockets.
