So no days off for about first month of the season when Yordan is himself coming back from an injury?
Astros lose 2 to 3 games in an MLB week on average so I guess the Astros would win 130-140 games with a different manager.
Nonsense. Sometimes the team wins despite Dusty. So I'd guess about 115-120. A legitimate response is speculating 9-14 wins in a regular season where you are not closely challenged are worth it to have more rested players peaking going into the playoffs. And I agree it's better than waiting until September to give them time off.
The person I quoted said you can't sit Yordan while both Brantley and Altuve are out which will be about a month into the season before Yordan could have a day off. We knew Yordan was going to get some extra off days at the beginning of the season.
That game was hard to watch. With Bregman having issues, we have almost no chance when you have Altuve , Brantley, and Yordan, all out. Yuck.
I guess we aren't supposed to pay attention until late May. Astros look pretty non threatening so far. It is a looooooong season. I guess Spring Training isn't enough to get them going.
Good lord. Guys, this has happened almost every year since 2017. They’ve historically been about an average team in the month of April and yet every year they get hot from May onward and make deep postseason runs. They will be fine. Sitting Yordan is the correct move. Especially as he’s coming back from “injury” himself.
Not dominating. is it concerning? probably but its so dang early that it sounds like whiney nonsense. I try really hard to wait until mid to late may before I get too concerned. That is a luxury we have had with this team.
I get resting Alvarez but delay it a day. Much rather rest him vs. Detroit than Chicago. Also a better chance that Bregman might breakout vs. Det than CWS.
Who do we play on April 7? Or is that an off day? And it's not a month away or even a week away. And then EVERY THURSDAY through the end of two months. I don't know where this month without a day off came from.
