Kyrie is only good when he has 2 other stars carrying the load for most of the game and he can look good going 1 on 1 with the third best defender on the other team at the end of the game. That was what happened in Cleveland and Brooklyn. His teams were bad enough to get the first pick in the draft when he has to do it all himself. Ironically Harden is the opposite. He can pretty much carry a team by himself for 90 percent of the season, and needs someone good enough to finish for him when he gets trapped at midcourt. I hope this is his year in Philly.
Yeah agree. But there's no gutting our team is all I meant. We're a disaster. This season really took the shine off the Rockets for me, in a big way. Two horrific, non-improving seasons were plenty. Three = free fall. Buuuuuuut on topic, I am loving laughing at Cubes and Dallas so much right now. NGL. Not proud of that, but if the Rox season underperformed (again), I will take shelter once more in schadenfreude.
I still think Luka and Kyrie can be potentially really good. They just need a team to be specifically built around them because they are both bad on defense. The reason CP3 and Harden worked so well is because, CP is a really good defender, and they are surrounded by scrappy defensive players like Tucker, Ariza and Capela.
It can take well over a year for a team to form chemistry. It doesn't come magically. But it's even harder when you have someone on the team who isn't receptive to criticism. Or it may never come. That includes Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving.
Have yall seen the Mavs ticket prices for the upper deck? They're overpriced costing around 300 bucks.
It looks like they will end up giving up a 2022 first (TyTy) for a player that will leave. It looks like they will end up giving up a 2029 first for a player that will leave. I just need them to end up outside the top-10 of this year's draft so they give up that pick too.
I knew Kyrie was going to end up blowing this whole thing up. Imagine if both he and Wood bolt. And they still won't have enough money to rebuild around Luka. There should already be a countdown for Luka demanding a trade.
Mavs fans think Adam Silver might rig the lottery for them and hand them Wemby because the NBA is a business they are actively rooting for losses
I see them tanking to keep their draft pick. Someone will have to hop into the top 3 from the teens IMO. Hopefully not the Clippers or Thunder.
Serious copium. I figured Cuban would have vetoed trading for Kyrie. He inevitably breaks apart any team he goes to. Cuban is a lot of things but he's not a complete idiot... Or so I thought.
