It's tough to take you seriously when you claim China is "significantly outmaneuvered" usa when they're literally collapsing in real time. Whoever controls the tech will control the financial system for decades to come. China is literally no where near the west when it comes to tech. Their chips industry is decade away from just being able to manufacture their <4nm chips.

People don't realize how crippling bidens export ban to China was. It set the industry back a decade. You don't understand how chips are made and I doubt you care seeing how you're a right wing boomer. With ASML joining in on the ban China is done for.

China dominated the solar panel industry by buying up all the cutting edge machines to produce them and later innovated on top of it to beat the Americans and German companies who sold the machines in the first place.

EUV is new to them but they managed to make 5nm chips from DUV which is likely it's limit.

Ofc if China said screw it and leveled fabs in Taiwan, that 5-10 yr gaps becomes murkier.

They managed to make them WITH asml core materials. They havnt shown AT ALL to be able to make their own lithography device. China is GREAT at copying someone else and converting it. They suck at actually innovating and coming up with the equipment themselves.

China knows if they invade taiwan the US airforce would carpet bomb the fabs

Agreed. The problem with that is the bafoonery is what makes Trump desirable to his base.

It's hard for any company to replicate what asml or tsmc are doing as industry costs makes it is winner takes all. The most cutting edge lithography devices are each worth half a billion dollars with a long waiting list for them, and the machines itself sources serveral countries for the parts.

My comment is more about competitive advantages and if tech becomes even more crucial than it is, then bombing those cutting edge fabs can increase in value as embargo restrictions become tighter.

It's horrific for the Ukranians who have lost their lives, and I certainly don't want to dismiss that, but from a US foreign policy standpoint, the Russian invasion of Ukraine is extremely bountiful. It has been a masterclass by Biden.
