No it isn't it is the JOB to prosecute CRIMES - we are a land of laws, 2 people have already served time for this crime, and one of Trump's accountants just testified in front of the Grand Jury - just before the indictment. The man is and has been a crook his whole like just because a bunch of red hat wearing ignoramouses are ok with it, doesn't make it legal. We are a country of laws that apply to everyone. DD
Red hat wearing ignoramouses made me laugh. Kinda makes me wanna sing "3 blind mice" in a whole new way.
It's going to be fascinating seeing how this affects 2024. 1) Will the case go to trial before the election? 2) Will this empower/embolden his supporters? The cynical side of me thinks that the only thing that matters is whether or not we get A) his mugshot and B) a shot of him in handcuffs. A will be fun to meme on but may not ultimately swing anything, but B is the real prize and moneyshot. If we get footage of him in cuffs, he's probably done as a serious candidate for public office forever.
I was thinking this also, I wonder due to the circumstances would this case get a quicker trial date?
fatboy is the king of projection and he did it again when he said bragg was engaging in election interference. he isnt going to jail on this. of all the crimes he committed this is the least harmful and consequential. as for inciting the january 6th insurrection, at a minimum he should spend the rest of his life in prison for that.
I'm not sure, but I'm also not sure if a quicker trial helps or hurts Trump. I doubt he spends a single nano-second in prison regardless. AFAIK it's also up to state to decide whether he has to do a perpwalk and be cuffed, etc. It sounds silly, but the handcuffed thing is literally more important than the verdict IMO. Memes decide elections and Trump in cuffs would be the nuclear bomb of memes.
They will never abandon him. He encourages them to be the worst version of themselves. Now they will feel proud to get arrested, too.
Undoubtedly yes, the martyr syndrome and persecution complex have always been core to the MAGA identity. Those aren't the people I'm talking about. I'm talking about the gen pop. Getting arrested is a humiliatingly unpresidential thing that would stick to you like a bad tattoo. The only way Trump wins if that meme takes hold is if Biden literally *****/pisses himself in public.
