Are y'all going to risk ruining even an awesome John Wick thread with D&D style arguing? Don't do it.

    Uh-huh. Nazis…
I am well aware. But many Chinese that I know think of things much differently. They are very proud of their Country and their home regardless. They are not pro-Hong Kong. They criticize their own government, but they criticize the hell out of the U.S. too.

Good ole boys sitting behind keyboards criticizing Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen for not putting their families at risk, comparing them to nazi sympathizers. Come on now.

I thought your posts were pretty good, but we all know where those discussions go, and it's not awesome John-Wick-like action. ... more like this choreography:

While I agree with some of your points, and yes, my Nazi Germany comment is triggering, there seems to be many similarities between the Nazi Germany and modern Communist China. The same excuses being used back then are being used today to excuse the atrocities. Look, I'm not saying they don't have a lot to lose, but right is right and wrong is wrong.

Honestly, I'm going to stop there as this isn't the D&D, it's about awesome John Wick 4.

The first movie is already almost a decade old and it holds up pretty well. I think the things at which it excels are the types of things that will age well. Which is to say tight, action with little to no visual FX that will look bad as technology progresses.

    Back on topic fellas :D

If someone wanted to call just about any of the John Wick films action masterpieces I wouldn't be mad.

The man is Hollywood's saint. I know they want to keep the Wickverse going but I would miss seeing him if he is not part of it.

PS: Wasn't the movie Nobody supposed to be connected to the Wickverse somehow? And then they had a Mr. Nobody in the movie? What's the deal?

Never seen any of the John wick movies before so bear with me. Saw this one tonight

-the Paris scene and the one in the apartment as well as the club fight scenes were phenomenal. Yea a lot of plot armor for the blind guy and John but the cinematography was nuts
-did not like John speaking in this movie at all. Looked like he just picked up English
    -rip Lance reddick
-I wonder how they will continue the series after his death. Spin-offs?
-I probably need to see the other 3 to understand the 4th huh?
-there were so many unintentional funny things in the movie; the dog jumping from car to car, wick just keep falling down the stairs, anytime Wick wanted to be serious. I couldn’t tell if it wanted to be comedy one minute with the dog peeing and grabbing the guys nuts or be serious and have all these fight scenes

I think the over-the-top stuff is intentionally funny, or at least self-conscious.
Our whole theater was laughing at the tumbling-down-stairs (x2) sequence. And I mean, come on, that Berlin nightclub with all these folks just dancing while these dudes going through live pistol-kata or whatever? Hahaha. Nevermind a blind assassin named "Caine" ... Like I mentioned earlier, when Wick takes off his jacket near the end of the movie and you can hear the tinkling of all the falling lead, I think that said the director was fully winking at us most of the time. But god did it look good.

Definitely watch the 1st one to really understand who JW is. You don't really get a feel for who JW is as a character without watching the 1st one, since after that all he does is kill a bunch of people.

John Wick's dog gets killed in the first movie. He gets his revenge on hallowed ground (The Continental), causing him to get excommunicated by the Assassin's guild. The next three movies are dealing with that.

But they're 1000% worth a watch. Same director, same coordinators, obviously same star.

    USE SPOILER TAGS, *******.

Now the whole plot is ruined.

Luckily he ****ed it up though by conflating the plotlines and villains of two different movies. :D

In terms of durability and earlier convo in this thread, I was just watching clips from #1, and damn does it hold up well. That's clearly the best movie just b/c the plot and world-building are so amazing.

Watch the clip where JW escapes the warehouse and confronts Vigo again in the street, standing on the hood of his SUV. Whole thing is just amazing, including some well-choreographed grappling.

I was joking...when I think of John Wick movies, plot is not exactly something that comes to mind

    JW has plot?

Well yeah, the plots in JW are for burying dead bodies.
