So tonight we need to be pulling for the following teams:

    Brooklyn
    Miami
    Dallas
    LA Lakers
    Memphis
    Detroit
    Phoenix

All those teams winning would still only move the Clippers pick down one spot to the 19th pick.

I feel there is a high likelihood there will be some talent in the 19th pick. But generally folks that fall in the draft get swooped up in the 15, 16, 17 range. So 19 is good, but getting the clippers to fall a few spots will likely get a much better prospect.

    To expand on this:

Brooklyn - keeps a .5 game lead or better overLA
Miami - swaps places with LA if LA loses
Dallas - keeps the playoff race close.
LA Lakers - keeps the playoff race close
Memphis - Adds another loss to Clippers
Detroit - Adds a loss to OKC and keeps whatever pick low.
Phoenix - Keeps a .5 game lead or better over LA

What do the Thunder have to do with this year's Clippers pick the Rockets have swap rights for?

Clippers have first right to swap.

I'm still pulling for Brooklyn to lose and have to play their way into the playoffs. I'd rather have increased odds for pick #1.

I have a feeling they're going to package the Clippers pick and a future pick to move up. It's too late in our rebuild to be drafting long term projects and long shots, we should be consolidating a little bit. Wouldn't be surprised to move up and get a top 10 pick.

The idea that we should continue tanking after 2024 is probably in front office and ownership's minds and what they can do to make that not worth it is bring those picks forward in value. We have a good core and if we add two more top 10 picks I find it impossible to believe we won't emerge with two stars from that batch. FA or no FA we will legitimately have a dynamite core with some mediocre/good picks still owed to us in the future.

Hope they go all in. Alternatively use the #20 and another protected future pick to attach to KPJ for an upgrade. Would even rather trade the Clippers pick for a lightly better pick in the future which would be a better trade asset. Really don't like the idea of picking outside the lottery.

Got it. So lets say outright that Clippers get the 12th. Thunder get 14th. And Bucks (Rockets) get 30th. Who would get what?

Apologies, I meant to say OKC has first right to swap.

    It would be sequential.

Thunder 1st have option to swap their pick with Clippers, which they would exercise and give 14 for 12.

Clippers now have the 14th pick, and the Rockets have the option to swap the Bucks pick with the 14th pick.

    OKC - 12
    HOU - 14
    LAC - 30

Given that Bucks pick is a lock at 30th, it’s basically Thunder gets the better of OKC and Clippers picks, Rox get the worse one. And Clippers will get the 30th

    • OKC has first dibs to swap with LAC
    • THEN, Rox can swap the Bucks pick with LAC AFTER the OKC swap
Them clippers are like cheap prostitutes. LOL

Thunder get the lowest of their pick and the Clippers, we get the better of the Clippers (or OKC if its later) and Milwaukee, Clippers get the worst pick among those.

I feel like the team will draft a euro player they will stash away for a year or two. I doubt they will have 2 first round picks on the roster again. If they do, a few players are getting dealt.

When was the last time this actually happened though? I have seen some teams draft euros they don't bring over, but I can't remember the last time one was drafted and brought over at a later date. Am I missing somebody?

Hell, if I recall they thought they were going to do that with Capela but he insisted on coming right over.

If you're talking about figuring out the draft order, there wouldn't be much to figure out as far as I know - any ties would be broken by random drawing.

Gotcha. So it benefits us for Thunder to be lower than the Clippers. Or both be bad.

KPJ with the three to end the 3rd quarter! Make up play for his previous turn over.
