What questions were you asking about hormones when it was straight white right wing guys doing the mass shootings the other 99% of the time?
What I have learned from these threads in the last couple days is that every other country has figured it all out except the US. It's one thing that is all the problems. I am not sure what it is, but I hope to see it for myself soon. It's certainly not a variety of issues and it's certainly not a belief structure from a certain faction commonly found in the sub.

Well, given the fact that 98 % or more of all mass shootings have been committed by men, it appears that testosterone (or other hormones, I am not a doctor) might play a role when it comes to propensity to violence? I think it is widely known that men commit more violent crimes than women. What question am I supposed to ask about that? My specific question is whether it might be an inherent risk of taking (or overdosing on? is that possible? I don't know) male hormones for women transitioning to men (as in social gender) that propensity towards violence might go up? I would think the sample size is still too small for actual scientific studies, but does that make it a question one should not be allowed to ask?
I had forgotten about these, but I do remember them now. Is it "transphobic" to ask about potential dangers of (too much) male hormone intake by biological women (or, in fact, anyone? The expression "roid rage" pops up in my head right now)?
The US and the Constitution were founded at this pivotal moment where muskets were a useful weapon for a decentralized army but not a mass killing machine for one single person. No country founders in their right mind would write a constitution that even hinted at the ability to give any pissed off 19 year old the ability to mow down dozens of people on a whim. Especially children. The 2nd amendment isn’t the hallmark of freedom you right wing nuts think it is. It’s a glitch in the timing of the founders.
leave it to the right wingers to make another school shooting into an opportunity to insult trans people! i had actually told someone recently that the only way to get right wingers to want to do anything about preventing mass shootings would be if a trans person carried one out...but i wasnt expecting them to go down this route...bravo, i guess???
NY and IL combined have the population of TX so your stat isn't outrageous. Sad but the ratio doesn't support your point.
I think anyone who grabs an automatic weapon and starts shooting up innocent people has mental issues. Unfortunately, too many people with mental issues can buy an AR-15 or weapon designed to kill in mass legally, if they haven't been certified or reported as a danger, mentally ill, or committed a felony in the past. Too many people with anger issues and mental issues buy these weapons every day legally.
Bringing up Chicago and NYC doesn't support any point either. There are plenty of cities with far more murders per capita than those two cities. We need gun reform. We need weapons designed to kill in mass taken off the streets. We need Republicans to start putting their support towards mental healthcare, treatment, and affordable healthcare to treat all these mentally ill people. They are focusing everything on trans, books, immigrants, and loosening gun regs, instead of addressing the gun and healthcare crisis in this country. Words are meaningless if you don't support taking action.
Prior to all of my guns being lost in a very tragic boating accident, I had many guns in my home. Whaddya know, none of them ever killed anyone. If you are starting from a position of "it's the inanimate object's fault", then I don't know what to tell you... other than you are flat wrong and don't know how these things work.
Not blaming the guns. Blaming people's access to guns without proper checks. Blaming the access to assault-style weapons.
