Is it possible that whatever she/he was taking had an impact on mental health/inhibition towards violence?
I didn't offer thoughts and prayers. While it is a sad individual tragedy, it is not something I am concerned about. Of course it's okay to say it, I did say it.
I'd be very interested to know the answer to your question. You have to think something is off upstairs to A) Cross dress full time; and B) Shoot up a elementary school. The meds and hormones need to be looked at intensely. No one should blame this on law abiding gun owners/advocates.
The shooter being trans being an excuse to deflect away from reform is hilarious. Always an excuse with every single shooter. every other country has solved this problem except one. mental health is a buzzword deflection. Can’t eliminate mental illness but can use it as a talking point so we never do anything g
Not hilarious at all. But totally expected, and the usuals will conveniently ignore all of the young white males who typically perpetrate these things.
Other countries allow gun ownership, but they heavily regulate it through measures such as liability insurance, registration, licensing, training, and storage standards. These regulations ensure safety, minimize harm to society, and only allow stable adults with a genuine reason for owning guns to do so. Essentially, common sense regulations. We need these at the federal level. (Note: In today's modern age, owning guns for "the security of a free state" is nonsensical and is not a genuine reason for anyone to own guns unless they are mentally deranged.) In the US, we have weak mental health support without universal healthcare for access. Even those with insurance have limited access to cares and treatments. Many people fall through the cracks and go undetected. There is essentially no filter given to mental stability for owning guns in the US.
What % of all the school shooters this year were Trans? Typical Republican take, yet Republicans scoff gun reform and mental health care bills repeatedly. If Republicans genuinely believe that mental illness is the driving force behind murderous rampages with high-powered weapons, then surely they should be anxious to support programs that help pay for mental health interventions, including things such as therapy, evaluations, making medicine more affordable, research on the causes and potential ways to ameliorate mental illness, supportive living facilities for people with mental illness and the rest of the panoply of programs this country desperately needs. https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opini...ns-mass-shootings-win-win-democrats-rcna32168
School shootings by state 2023 Texas 135 Illinois 65 New York 49 Texas doubles NY and Illinois when it comes to shooting up innocent children in schools.
You know, it is possible to be in favour of almost all weapons getting confiscated (I know, this will never fly) and to be asking the question what role drugs/hormone intake may or may not have played in this horrible tragedy. Being totally anti-weapons doesn't make me a communist. Asking the question about the impact of hormonal intake doesn't make me a Nazi. Not everything has to be about scoring political points.
