He said last year he was getting a taste for it. Want's another one.
Hope he gets it before he ages into a Biden type shadow of himself.

The Dusty hate just doesn’t hold that much water anymore. He’s been nails in the postseason, and whether that’s him or the front office is irrelevant, bc the right decisions are getting made most of the time. Am I still going to freak out when he just swaps bench players in the same batting order spot, and we have dubon batting lead off? Absolutely, but otherwise it’s just whatever.

Yeah I’ve seen this thrown around and don’t get it. If that deal would get it done, then it would have already been offered.

    Exactly.

This is a 162 game season where any pitch or play a player can be injured. - see Altuve and Rhys Hoskins

Dusty has done his job day in and day out since he got here

That job is to get to and win the World Series

to do that the star players can't be tired, burned out, or over exposed to injury needlessly.

Backup players need to play enough to learn, gain experience, get as sharp as possible for when needed, and also to show the team what they can and can't do.

Sometimes that means a lineup that is not the best and may be part of learning what the players on the roster can do.

Otherwise the team has no idea what or who needs to be upgraded.

I'm pretty sure Tucker wants to get PAID. He knows the market. Tucker will go to the highest bidder.

I don't think Tucker would do that deal without an opt out. And that trades all the downside risk the team takes and lets the player receive the benefit of upside. It's an awful term that's been part of long term contracts.

Tonight's game is a little more interesting with it being played in Sugar Land. It'll be televised.

So do you think they'll be more persuasive or quicker to eliminate his favorites?

Dubon got his shot last year with tons of playing time. Let’s give somebody with an actual future a chance to play instead of him. Hensley should absolutely get the lion’s share of starts at 2b while Altuve is out. If he doesn’t that is a bullshit Dusty move. Did him playing Dubon last year make him ready for the playoffs? Answer is no.

Yep. They shouldn't be worried about doing 10 years right now. Tucker would only be 36 at the end of that deal- he should still be playable.
His 3 arb years after he lost the award are going to add up to 30-35M. In the free market he should have no problem at 29 getting a 10/300 deal. Factor in discount of 20% for the certainty that he gets by guaranteeing him money now and that's 240M. Add that to the 30 he's getting in arb and 10/270 seems like an eminently fair number to both sides. If the Astros balked at giving that deal to a homegrown 26 year old I'd have a problem with that. If Tucker didn't want to sign that from my perspective I'd tell him he was a fool to not take that guaranteed generational money- unless it was just about not wanting to be an Astro for life- which I can't fault as that's just a matter of personal preference.

That's your opening day lineup other than Tucker Gentlemen.

If they are dead set on Alvarez in LF yes. If not we would be much better with Myers and McCormick in CF/LF and Alvarez at DH. If it’s a RH then maybe Alvarez in LF, Myers in CF, and Dirden DH, although I doubt Dirden makes the team out of spring training.

How can any serious Astros fan say ANYTHING last year was not a success?

Any change and the result could be different.

What if Dusty played Chas in CF during JVs games instead if Dubon and he gets hurt - hit by pitch or sprains an ankle or hammy while he could have been on the bench?

Does the replacement CF catch Reamulto's drive to the wall?

No I am perfectly happy with everything about last year.
