To win the Super Bowl obviously. To win one requires a talented roster, effective coaching, and smart decision-making. Some strategies that successful NFL teams have used to win the Super Bowl: Build a strong team: To win a Super Bowl, a team needs to have a roster filled with talented and motivated players who can work well together. Both sides of the ball, as well as special teams. Effective coaching: This includes not only game planning and play-calling but also motivating and inspiring players to perform at their peak. A balanced game: Successful Super Bowl teams often have a balanced approach to the game. Make smart decisions: Both on and off the field, such as, managing the salary cap effectively, making smart personnel decisions, and being disciplined and focused throughout the season. Stay healthy: Injuries can derail even the best teams, so staying healthy throughout the season is crucial to winning a Super Bowl, also managing and rehabilitating them effectively when they do occur. To win the ultimate prize requires a combination of talent, coaching, strategy, and luck. By focusing on all of these areas we can work towards that goal. They have already begun a shift in culture in the right direction.
I think his argument is that McNair's believe drafting a QB will put more butts in seats, which is their ultimate goal. More seats = more money.
I get what he is saying but just think it’s dumb logic. Texans drafted a defensive back first in 2022 and averaged 68,000 per game. The most his theory could net is 32,000 tickets over an entire season.
It would at least until said QB either fails or gets hurt. Building a consistent winner puts more butts in the seat long-term. The question is can you build a consistent winner without a franchise QB and do you believe one of this year’s QBs are franchise QBs. That being said the owner is clearly a moron, so no telling what he will do.
“Leader in the clubhouse throughout. … As of right now, who they take is Bryce Young. Who is closest is probably CJ Stroud.” — Albert Breer on Panthers
You can test for this as well. IIRC Mahomes scored exceptionally well ... and FWIW so did Bryce Young. NFL teams still need to train rookie QBs on the NFL game.
You keep saying this, and you act like they have a history of doing this, yet when I pressed you on it before the only example you could name was David Carr 20 years ago. It’s all speculative nonsense backed by your own biases. There are numerous examples of them doing the opposite, like when they took Mario Williams #1 overall.
Caserio likes the value QB. Using a #2 overall pick to reach for the second best QB in a mediocre draft class is waaaay out of character for him. It's best for trade value to appear interested in a QB. So I understand the Bryce Young smoke screen.
Have to take all "he's going number 1" with a grain of salt. Its lying season right now in the NFL. Money to be made, draft picks to be gained. Houston would have traded with the Bears and vice versa if they had a preference. They like both guys.
Quoted for truth. Unfortunately some people really don't care about winning, they just want to be entertained. The McNair's have made billions off of these types of fans for years and hope to continue too.

If they are willing to trade the #2 doesn’t that mean there is no one, Will Anderson, they truly want? Even if you don’t really want a QB, you are not going to get a Will Anderson type player if you trade back in the draft.
